  • Simple and effective
Style: iTrack Solo - Lightning (1-mic pre / 1-i...
Works exactly as described when connecting to an iPad. Very simple to use and the sound quality is excellent. It was refreshing to buy something that is as straightforward to use as described in the product literature. Would be helpful if the lightning connector allowed digital transfer and also charging of the iPad. However I don’t know if that is technically possible. However a great buy. ... show more

  • Great audio input device!
Style: iTrack Solo - Lightning (1-mic pre / 1-i...
This device is simple to use, and works so flawlessly with my iPad, iPhone, or Mac with ease. It improved my FB live audio 100 fold and for the price is amazing. Highly recommend this device to anyone using it for this purpose.

  • Found some limitations annoying, but good quality otherwise
The iTrack works well, but I ended up returning it and buying a Focusrite Scarlett instead. I primarily bought the iTrack because I wanted to record into my iPhone with a better microphone, and while there are cheaper options out there, with the iTrack I could also record directly from my digital piano. Pros: The headphones and microphone that come with the iTrack seemed good. It comes with an XLR cable, which you could use with other equipment as well. Setup is incredibly easy; simply plug the USB cable (included) into your computer and record into your preferred audio software (I'm using a Mac with Amadeus Pro). Or to record into an iPad, download Focusrite's Tape app. I didn't try their Impact app for iPhone, so I can't attest to that. Cons: The microphone has a screw base, but I can't figure out what type of mike stand it's supposed to be compatible with. I had to squeeze the mike into a flexible plastic holder I already had, which barely fit. The iPad app won't export uncompressed audio, which sort of makes sense due to storage limitations, but if you have any intention of editing later, you'll want to record into a computer. If you just need an mp3 with some trimming and a few built-in filters, this is a quick-n-dirty solution. I had this vision of just taking the iTrack and iPad with me to a gig, with the iPad providing the power via Lightning port. But here's the most important part -- the iTrack is *only* USB powered. So you either need to connect it to a laptop, or use an iPhone/iPad charger adapter (not included, but you already have one if you have one of those devices). So if you don't have a laptop, bring an extension cord too. My feeling was, if I have to bring a laptop to record full-quality and provide USB power anyway, I might as well return this and get the Scarlett. A similar mike and headphones, combined with the same base model Scarlett, will run about the same price. Or if you already have mikes and headphones, get a nicer Scarlett with more ports and options (which is what I did). For my needs, the Lightning port on the iTrack is almost useless since it won't power the device and the app only exports compressed audio. But I could see how some people might have a use for it. ... show more

  • Exceeds Expectations
This product happens to be of very good quality in regards to both the audio of the microphone and headset, as well as general build quality. This product has been with me for almost two years, and it has served me well, as it continues to be both my primary audio source / driver, as well as my microphone, of which it does a fantastic job. With a few nice options for both audio input and output, while still being rather small and compact, this product can work in even the smallest of offices, as it worked for me in just that when I first purchased it, and continues to work very well in my new office. Just be sure to purchase and anti vibration suspension microphone shock mount, to ensure the best safety of your microphone along with stability, and an adjustable microphone suspension boom arm. Kudos to you for doing some research! ... show more

  • The best package
Style: iTrack Solo - Lightning (1-mic pre / 1-i...
This thing is awesome. You don't need an Apple device to use it but it will add to the usefulness. You can use it to record in garage band, you can use it to record in your PC, you can use it as an amp for your studio headphones. This and the Scarlett are virtually the same, so I'd go with either unless you only have a lightning compatible device. ... show more

  • The Worst
Style: iTrack Solo - Lightning (1-mic pre / 1-i...
This is THE worst piece of junk ever band-aided together. I own iRig interfaces also that I thought were bad but at least they work. I got it, opened the box, and discovered that I have to waste MY time registering the unit in order to get the software they promised CAME WITH the unit. You have to go to Focusrite website to register. But when I got there I couldn't register because they were having website problems. I contacted Focusrite customer service. Then I tried to use the unit. Hooking it up is very simple and isn't rocket science. plug in the power cord, plug in the unit-to-iPad cord and connect the lightning end to iPad, plug in a guitar or mic, and it should work. Nope. I spent the next ou-le of hours trying to figure out what was wrong. I narrowed it down to one of two possibilities.... 1) either the unit-to-ipad cord is bad or 2) there's an internal short. It intermittently got a signal but sporadically. Again, I contacted Focusrite customer service and got a canned response directing me to watch a couple of start up videos then no further help after that. So, I returned the unit back to Amazon with money back. I will NEVER buy anything from Focusrite again. I'm going with a tried and true company, Tascam. I will order their interface. BEWARE buuing the Focusrite unit. It's a piece of trash. ... show more
