I am refinishing and making furniture, have read a lot about favorite techniques to stain furniture , And I’m using General finish topcoat oil gloss for first coat to pop the grain, and then satin finish. First photo is 50 year old cherry dresser-desk I used as a boy, last photo is imprint found in over 100 yard old walnut drop leaf table that I sanded down to bare wood and found this “ image or imprint” that must have been thrown on raw wood prior to initial finishing and the keptfirst finish from working but was just covered with multiple layers of finishes. Many gave their thoughts on how to apply varnish - with brush ( hard to get all of varnish out with rinsing so stiffened up y The $14 brush ) , tried using wad of old T shirts … messy and seemed to waste varnish, TRIED STAINING with lint free SPECIAL 1 pound of cloth ( nothing was lint free… sorry Rockler), tried micro cloth covered sponge - Harbor Freight has the best , but not lint free - never the less I would buy all they had ( now use them with mineral spirits to clear sanding dust in between varnish coats) …and tried using cheap black foam brushes from big box stores that fell apart in use …until I read a review about this brand brush . I love it , one brush has 4 refills the same size ( about cost equal to one bag of sorted sizes from HD ) but I finished 2 projects just by rinsing this brush in mineral spirts and using again…And again AND AGAIN , STILL HAVE REFILLS X 4 remaining. I love this product !! WOWOW

I refinish furniture which can be a tedious job if done right. I don't cut corners but if I can find products that make my job easier, I'm all for it. One of the biggest problems people have is sealing furniture after painting. No matter how meticulous you are, you can have drip marks from the poly if you aren't careful. I've been buying another brand of foam brushes which can be costly. When I came across this brand, I figured I'll give it a try. I apply my poly with a special sponge and go over it for a smooth finish with these foam brushes. Since using the foam brushes, I haven't had a drip mark on my furniture. The price is great and it comes with refills which saves me money. You would expect the foam to start falling apart but I've been using mine for several months and haven't had a problem. I also use water based paint & poly so that helps. I can't say for sure how it would work with oil based products but for what I use it for, it's perfect.

I am the first to review for 2018 Foam pads - Made in Mexico. Yellow handle - MADE IN USA.(Hip hip Hooray) EXCELLENT PRODUCT! I RECEIVED 5 PADS IN MY ORDER. I used each pad for 2.5 hours non stop, applying Minwax Oil Based Polyurethane on the bottom of my kitchen cabinets. Yellow handle was durable around copper pipes and squeezing underneath PVC Sink Trap. Foam pad looked brand new when finished. Just for fun, I placed a used foam pad in a OPEN plastic bag, left in 50 degree garage, inspected 24 hours later and pad was still moist and in new condition. I bought this product thinking disposable after one use, which I did for the first four. For the consumer who is on a budget, it probably will have multiple uses. Six bucks for five pads, cheaper than Wooster. UPDATE 05/16/2018 - I went to Lowes and purchased 3 of their 98 cent foam brushes. I was applying poly to the inside of 7 upper kitchen cabinets. The brushes became saturated from working overhead, upward and downward on inside of cabinets. The bottom was previously done. All three foam pads separated from the handle before I finished the first coat. I had only used 1/3 of a quart of poly and finished the last cabinet holding the pad in my hand. LOWES JUNK! I searched for and found my FoamPRO handle with the previously used and cleaned pad. I applied another coat of poly on 2 separate days, on all cabinets without incident. PAD WAS CLEANED IN MINERAL SPIRITS AFTER EACH USE! PAD LOOKS BRAND NEW AFTER 3 SEPARATE USES WITH OIL BASED POLYURETHANE!

There is no doubt that these are far superior to regular general foam brush with wood handle. My hand always cramps with wood handles putting poly on cornhole boards. Not with foam pro brushes And the finish is cleaner and brush is sturdy and doesn’t flake. Worth the money

I bought these because they looked like they were high quality foam brushes but they turned out to be super flimsy and cheaply made. The quality does not hold up when trying to use it to paint even the simplest things. The foam literally falls out of the plastic handle section. I would not recommend purchasing these brushes. The regular cheap foam brushes are a million times better and much sturdier. I definitely will not be buying them again :-(.
