Exactly what I hoped for. Sturdy material, thick screws to hold it together, and simple to put together. Took me nearly hours to accomplish it, but that's just because I'm getting older and have stiff joints. Still, once I got past the first few instructions, it was all pretty self explanatory. I'm convinced negative reviews on these were just people who didn't take the time to do it properly. For example, the knuts only screw on easily for the first few turns, then they have to be tightened quite a ways. I can see how someone might feel the resistance and think that's as far as it goes, but you'll know when you can't go further. My only issue is that the smaller slats aren't fixed in place. They just slide into tight slots on the frame. They're very sturdy and it's not a real problem since once you've got the mattress on it won't really affect anything, but it would be nice to be able to move it in one piece. All in all, a great product. No squeaking, high quality, and a decent price, comparitively. ... show more

This seems like a very sturdy box spring. Replaced our 9 inch regular wood box springs that were old and we wanted to lower our bed some since adding a mattress topper. I'm taking away a star because some of my parts were labeled wrong. Noisy. I got the king size. The outer frame tightens down pretty snug with bolts but the slats going across just press into slots. If you have to pick up and move the box, the slats fall. So that might be what is making the metallic creepy noise every time I move on the bed. It seemed slid for about a week now it annoys me. Otherwise, I like the form factor and size availability. Just wouldn’t recommend it for anything other than a guest bedroom or maybe a kids bed. Updating because a month or so has passed. It’s worse than I thought. Wouldn’t recommend for a guest room either. Just avoid. Removed the mattress and the cheap metal box spring is all warped from the weight of a king size mattress. (I’m skinny) ... show more

This is a great box spring. I put it together all by myself in about 30 minutes or so. The only issue I had was it was slightly dented in transit and So I had to force the corner piece in with a wooden mallet. I could lower the rating for that but it isn't the product it was delivery and I am sure I could have returned it and gotten a perfect one as a replacement. But I did want to bother. So I still recommend it because it was an easy fix. My only advice would be check it over when it comes to be sure it wasn't dented or hurt in transit. Other than that that it's sturdy and light and perfect for the price ... show more
