I've changed a ton of lights due to a recent housing upgrade. This one stands out. It has a better dimmable range than other lights I have. The materials are also heavier duty. Installation is super easy but also on par with the other lights. Definitely recommend.

I replaced all the builder's grade dome lights in my townhouse with these. Much nicer looking. Slightly more directional light than two CFLs in a frosted glass dome, but *much* brighter to make up for it. 3000K is a reasonable compromise for color temperature, pretty much as white as I would want at night. The housing and diffuser feels reasonably high quality. The 14" ones especially are fairly heavy. I am happy with them now that they're up. Really hope they last. Installation was a mixed bag. It *really* depends on how much space you have in the electrical box to stuff the wires into. In retrospect I should have removed some of the crossbars in my ceiling boxes or replaced them with a different type because the hole in the bracket really didn't leave much space to push in the wires, even when using compact push-in connectors rather than wire nuts. In the end I usually had about 1/8" - 1/4" gap between the housing and the ceiling which isn't really noticeable. Twisting the latches on was also somewhat frustrating. Pretty much every light took several tries to get all the clips to engage at once. The clip and wire to temporarily hang the light helps but can be damaged when installing. One of my boxes ended up one with cutout to mount over a beam. That light was almost impossible to install and I ended up slashing my knuckles on the sharp edges of the mounting bracket, so be careful with that. ... show more

I found the install to be very easy. I liked that it already had a hanging chain attached so real easy to connect wiring. To mount the face, you just keep it flush, turn it, sliding right into place, hearing a click! Real quick & easy and looks nice! The light looks great, you can upgrade your current light without having to make holes on your ceiling allowing you to simply connect the wires and attach the light to the bracket with easy. Fits great and works like a charm.

I bought a cheaper one and this one at the same time. I ended up installing this one because it looks much nicer. Material is good quality and heavy weight (not plastic). Installation was a breeze for someone who had never done it before.

The light itself was easy to put together and swap out, but my biggest challenge was mounting the cover to the wall brackets. There are 3 very tight and narrow clips that you have to catch to mount the cover evenly, and I tried for an hour to get them all to clamp at once as required but gave up with 2 out of 3 clipping, giving it some unevenness but I was just too frustrated to attempt to fix it and potentially unclip them all again. ... show more
