I've been slowly building a collection of botanical building block sets, but, if you're like me, you've probably noticed that those name brand ones are starting to get a tad bit too pricey. Well I can happily say that this is a fantastic alternative. Right out of the box, the packaging is professional, and the instructions are very clear and easy to read. That being said, however, I have to disagree with it being for children. I'd suggest early teens and older on this one. Some of the pieces, at least in my kit, needed a little extra "oomph" to get together. Nothing crazy, but it put some strain on the plastic. Nothing broke, and there were no missing pieces, so I'm really happy with the final product. The lights really do add a special flair to the kit itself. I have mine hung on my wall above my record player, and at night it looks really pretty. If you want to add a unique floral kit to your collection, and not break the bank, this is a great choice for you. Highly recommend.

I enjoyed putting this set together, and the finished build is attractive. I hesitate to encourage this for children, especially at the stated range of 6 years and up. It does come with an instruction booklet, and the steps are reasonably well illustrated, but I think the suggestion that an average 6-year-old could enjoy and complete this set is ambitious and probably unrealistic. It may be safe for age 6, but that doesn't make it the best experience for that age. When it comes to quality, I did notice that two of the ball-tipped pieces (for ball-and-socket joint connections) showed immediate stress when snapped into place as designed. It was clear that the plastic joining the ball to the traditional "brick" section of the same piece was stressed--slightly white and a little bent. The alignment was poor. That made it clear to me that this is likely also not a set intended for repeat assembly and disassembly or play beyond the intended design. This is a once-and-done build. That, to me, is another argument against putting this set into the hands of a young child. Overall, not bad, and adult builders will be happy with what they receive. Just be conscious of the difficulty level and the material limitations and perhaps buy for age 10 and older.

This has been a fun set to build alongside my 5 year old. He's been able to build most of it, but some parts are a little bit more complicated (it states that it's for ages 14+). Overall the instructions are typical for a flower LEGO build. The only small issue we had is that there's a small joint that holds on the sides of the basket and that joint is slightly tougher to align, but nobody would know it's 0.2mm off except for the builder!

This is a fun project for Lego lovers who like plants. Nice kit with good instructions. Even includes little LED lights! Not for small children probably. Decent quality pieces with good color saturation.

The lighting included are neat little gimmicks but realistically take a lot of effort for a little reward. I think losing the lights and increasing the quality on some of the books would be the move. Again, if you don't wanna buy legos but want to have lego fun these are great knockoffs.
