I wanted a fancier shoe that had black soles (light soles are more casual in my opinion). I wear these with slacks and a button-down shirt, sometimes with a sports coat, in a business office setting. The shoes are made of high-quality leather and the fit is perfect as listed (size 13 for me). I am always worried about comfort with dress shoes, but I can wear these all day without foot fatigue. The sole cushioning is very good, and the leather around the ankle is reasonably soft and snug. The soles are rubber and have channels that provide grip on wet surfaces. I don't need this in the office but may be handy in other settings (food industry?). If you are looking for a top-quality dressier shoe, then I would recommend these. Was considering cheaper shoes made of less expensive material, but I am happy that I spent the extra money and I do feel like I got my money's worth.

It's a bit plain, more for the casual attire. Would work with any pant, even jeans. Would not work well with something more formal. These days though I guess you can wear tennis shoes with a tie, but for me if you are wearing a tie, you would need something with a heal and more pronounced toe.

I ordered these in a wide size but they are not any wider than regular width shoes from any brand I’ve ever tried. I widened them with with a shoe stretcher (a must have for people with wide feet, IMO) and they have worked out great since. I haven’t even used my Super Feet insoles because the insoles were already comfy and supportive. The non-slip sole is not like I’m used to. They do keep you from slipping, but they are very stiff, more like hard plastic than rubber, which causes you to slide. This can be a fun feature but I’d rather my safety shoes be safe rather than adventurous.

These were for my hubby who has trouble finding a good shoe that fits because of his wide feet. It’s even harder to find a nice dress shoe to go with his suits. We debated between a EEE, and the XX. We went with the XX and they were perfect. He slipped them right on and they didn’t even need the usual “breaking in” period—which has always been a pain. We are both pleased with this pair of nice leather dress shoes.
