The lamp is in a corner behind my couch. The remote makes it so easy to turn on and off rather then stretching over the couch for a knob. Throws plenty of light and it has a lot of adjustments your going to like.

I bought 2 of these, for rooms where there is no central ceiling light. The brightness functions and warmth of light features are GREAT! And I bought these because I wanted a remote control and bright lights. HOWEVER. On one of them the bigger light started going on the fritz within 2 months. I replaced the bulb, nothing. Eventually it no longer worked with the remote, and the fix on the website didn't work. So now you can no longer control the light brightness or coloring, because there is no manual button for that. And I can only get it to turn on/off by walking over and turning the knob on the lamp. That's inconvenient when I bought the light to be able to be turned on from the doorway of a dark room. I am hoping the other light does not do the same, but I will wait and see. So the one that works, I love! The one that went rogue...is kinda useless now, since I can't access the brightness or color features--just on/off. Thankfully, Amazon refunded me for that one. If you get this, assemble it and use it right away so you will know if you got a dud! ... show more

There’s absolutely nothing I would change about this lamp. I have it in a confined area between my workstation and the wall. The remote is invaluable. To manually turn it on and off would be very inconvenient. However, the remote will change both the upper light and the downward light. Can have one or both of them on. The light is perfect for giving a general light to the whole area from the upper lamp and a focused light for working from the smaller lamp. The first one I purchased the remote would not work. When I called for help, I was told to re-package the whole light fixture and they would send me another. (If you know what it is like to unravel,twist and turn different parts, it was exhausting. Two hours later. I repackaged the light and UPS picked it at no cost. A new one arrived and I repeated the whole process. This time the remote did work. I held my breath just thinking, What if I have to repackage this one also. Happy Ending. I've been using this lamp for about 2 years now. Due to an electrical shorted stop connecting and the instructions to reconnect it to the remote or right in the description. Hooked it back up and still working fine.
