First, I don't remember ever leaving a review on Amazon, this company worked hard to get a good review and a good review is well deserved, so here it is. Bought this to replace a halogen lamp in a home office. It goes together easily and works very well. Then I proceeded to register the lamp at the Nekteck web site where besides the one year replacement warranty was an offer to choose from three gifts. Two of the gifts were things I didn't need the third was a lemon squeezer. I expected the squeezer to be cheap plastic, but it was made out of metal, it was a far superior quality to what I expected, I love it.     • Bright diffused light in the office.
I bought this lamp a while ago, but when I saw it on my orders list I thought I'd better rate it. It has been a wonderful addition to my home office. It lights up the whole room without causing any glare on the monitors.

    • Amazing Find
UPDATE - EDIT: NekTeck personally reached out to me & sent a courtesy replacement. I'm not sure if the fault of the first lamp had to do with shipping from the Amazon warehouse but the one the company shipped directly to me works AWESOME! The light is extremely bright. It was still a little cumbersome to put together since it's heavy but once it was assembled, it worked like a charm. It's bright enough to fill my entire living room which is quite large. No need for a second lamp. I would highly recommend this item & have nothing but great things to say about NekTeck. Their customer service is top-notch & they made me feel like a valued customer. I'd purchase again from the company due to the high level of customer service. Thank you NekTeck! I was replacing one of my living room lamps with this one in hopes it brightened the room. Nope! It barely gave off any light. My floor lamp from Target that cost less than $20 put off better light than this. It was a real pain to disassemble this but when I finally did, I immediately returned it. What a waste! ... show more

    • Deflection angle slightly less than expected, but brightness is good, switch mounting weak
Have a room where I was unable to upgrade the overhead lights (it's a rental), and this seems to be the cheapest and safest way to upgrade the lighting for the whole room. At under $50, this is much cheaper, safer, and easier to handle than the older "halogen" torchieres while provided as much light, not to mention the slightly "bend-y" light element allowing for an optimal projection of light. And the light is dimmable via the +/- buttons on the base next to the power switch. Being LED lights, they are MUCH MUCH cooler to touch than halogens (which will BURN!) and consumes much less energy for the same amount of light. Highly recommended. I just wish the color temperature is selectable, or a colder color option is available. EDIT: Long-term update -- having owned this for months, a crack developed in the "mounting" of the switch. The "collar" type plastic that fits into the base has cracked into 4 pieces and fallen off. The switch still works, but it's loose now. Can be fixed with Sugru, but I didn't quite have any on hand at the moment. If you use this in a heavily trafficked area, beware of the longevity of the switch mounting.     • Dimmer switch not great, otherwise seems a solid little light
Not sure if I just got a slight dud or if the dimmer switch is flaky on these, in general, but that's the one area that I would mark down quite a lot. It functions but is a bit sticky and doesn't dim as low as I'd expect for it to get down to the 5% advertised in the listing. Assembly of the light was quite simple and took me just a minute or so. We're using this to replace an older torchiere that had broken at the base where it joined to the pole and would no longer stay together (not safe with a rambunctious kid and two curious kittens in the domicile). Initial impression is that it will work fine in our home office. We have it plugged into the socket that's on the switch and it does take a second or two to warm up when we hit the switch. Not a huge issue. Just need to hesitate on the first step into the room when it's really dark to give it that second to click on. When it does come on, it seems to be at the full strength of whatever level the dimmer was left at. ... show more

    • Bright but faulty
I purchased this for our downstairs family room which we turned into a workout room. The days are getting shorter. Exercising at 6AM in a room with inadequate lighting can be depressing. I got this lamp on a flash deal. Great price. Assembly was tricky but not exerting. The lamp give off ALLOT of light. I really like it. The reason for two stars is because the dimmer switch does not function most of the time. I keep the lamp on the brightest setting always and don’t really use the dimmer button. Nonetheless others buyers will. To that end I caution you to buy a different brand of this style of torchiere lamp. UPDATE: Recently NekTeck emailed me regarding my review. I always find this impressive since 99 percent of reviews are not read by the seller, I think. NekTeck offered to refund me or send another lamp. I opted for the lamp. After receiving it, I found that it functioned as it should. Meaning, the lamp illuminated at the brightness when switched off. I raised my rating mostly because NekTeck cared enough about customer satisfaction to reach out to an insignificant me. ... show more
