I bought this FlexSolar 20W 12V solar panel charger to keep the lead acid batteries healthy on cars I do not drive very often, and it has worked out extremely well. Before using this, I was replacing lead-acid batteries far more often than I should have. Since adding these maintainers, I have avoided that yearly battery replacement cycle, which has easily saved me hundreds of dollars. I currently use one on a Honda Civic and a Dodge Ram. What I like most The biggest benefit is simple: it helps keep seldom driven vehicles ready to go. Instead of worrying about a weak or dead battery, I can leave this connected and have much better peace of mind. Flexible connection options I also like that it gives you more than one way to hook it up. The OBD2 option is convenient, and the terminal post connection is there if that works better for your setup. That flexibility makes it easier to use on different vehicles. Good enough to buy again I liked it enough that I bought another one as a gift for family. That usually says more than anything else for me. If I trust a product enough to spend my own money on a second one for someone else, it has proven itself. Bonus confidence Project Farm also reviewed this on YouTube and gave it very high praise. That matched my experience, and it made me feel even better about the purchase. Bottom line If you have cars, trucks, or other vehicles that sit for long periods, this is a smart buy. Well worth the money and an Awesome product -- FlexSolar 20W 12V Solar Panel Battery Charger I purchased two of these and I have them inside the vehicle on the dashboards.. They work as expected but of course with being inside the vehicle you will not receive the full power -- So do not expect to receive the full power when behind vehicle windows you will set yourself up for a let down! Recommendation(s): 1. Fully charge your battery (or as close to fully charge) -- It's easier for the solar panel kit to keep the battery charged 2. Purchase a 10a mppt solar charge controller -- Why? especially if you are using your ODBii as your charging point you do not want to possibly cause any serious electrical issues. Charging is regulated meaning: when your battery is fully charged, there is no excessive power being pushed into the battery or electrical when using the ODBii or DC outlets 3. Inline fuse's -- Use one inline fuse before the mppt controller and one after the mppt controller. Protect your mppt controller, your battery, potentially your electrical system, etc.

I have a second home and keep a car there. It sits outside and for the first few months I would get warnings that my car battery is low via the app. I’ve had to call neighbors asking them to drive my car. After purchasing this charger, I have had zero issues. It’s maintained a full car battery for me for over 4 weeks. No warnings. I feel confident leaving my car for a few weeks and not needing to replace a battery for hundreds of dollars and great inconvenience. Highly recommend this product!

Great that it comes with several adapters to attach. The 12v plug adapter didn't work on our vehicles as they go off ten minutes after engine shutdown. The OBDII adapter worked perfectly. ONE CAVEAT!! Cover the panel with a towel or be in the shade when you plug it in. I had two vehicles blow the OBDII fuse when I plugged them in while the sun was overhead. No problems under continuous use and plugged in 24/7, even while the vehicle is in operation. Our vehicles were losing batteries when they sat for a few weeks due the computers running all the time. This completely solved that issue. No more flat batteries since installation in several vehicles.

This solar panel is working well after having tried two others which did not satisfy the requirements. I have it inside the windshield running the cable outside to the battery. Although this limits which direction I can park the car during the winter to get Sunshine on the panel, I remedy that by purchasing an additional cable. The panel itself has good quality suction cups, and I attach it with the included. carabiners. The panel has been attached to the windshield for some time and is still holding. We have not reached cold weather yet though hope that doesn’t affect it. The solar panel keeps my 12 V car battery at 13.6 votes. This is in full sunshine or cloudy, it doesn’t make any difference. The quality of the panel is very good. The included alligator clips are good quality, however, the wires are extremely thin. No problem though. It also includes a cigarette lighter plug-in, but with my vehicle, it does not produce the needed voltage going through that to the battery. Also, the included plug-in for the scanner attachment does not work to produce voltage at the battery as well at least not very much. I still give it five stars because it’s doing what I needed to do. In my case, I have isolated the battery by using a disconnect switch at the negative terminal. This way, I simply maintain the battery without having a constant load on it from the parasitic loads of modern vehicles.

Used this to provide a continuous solar-based "trickle charge" for my garden tractor. (Had to buy a separate connector for the tractor and solder a connection to this thing's wires, but that was pretty straight-forward.) And the result is absolutely amazing: continuously topped-up battery, all the time. I wish I'd picked this up years ago. The built-in cable coming out of this panel is very long, and the panel itself appears to be adequately robust.

After the first week. I have to say this panel doesnt work ! In fact i believe its sapping power back after the sun goes down. ! First 2 days full sun put it on a discharged battery 9.5 volts went out after a hour seen 10.5 volts. Got happy left it go until next morning after sun was just getting up.. battery showed 9.5 volts. Charged battery reinstalled solar panel. After 4 days leaving it alone checked voltage 11 volts. Soooo good luck i think im going to test 1 more week with more checks but i believe this will be returned as it is junk !

I fitted this on a camper trailer and it keeps my 12v system topped off even when my full panels aren’t out. I would recommend it and it came with everything I needed. The quality is there and for a 20w panel it seems small but it is mighty
