These are great for cutting up messy meats and keeping the juices off the wood. They're color coded so it's easy to use the proper one to avoid cross contamination...especially chicken. I like this type of cutting board for daily use, granted the countertops in my new house are almost antique-age 2 times over and suck so I couldn’t care less if they’re scratched but have used this kind for many years & never had one break or a countertop anywhere get damaged. At this price point, once they’re significantly scratched, I just trash them & save the thicker heavier boards for heavy duty tasks. I prefer to use these lightweight cutting sheets rather than the large heavier cutting boards my husband uses. Easy to use, easy to clean, easy to store. They are flexible, which makes it easier to transfer chopped onions, etc. They did have somewhat of a strong scent to them upon arrival.
