I had a Flex watch a few years ago, but I don't know what happened to it the last time we moved. I've missed it, and I was so glad to see this one when it appeared. These watches come in several different colors and are made of ocean recycled plastic. The watch doesn't really look like plastic to me. This has a nicely sized watchband and is suitable for men or women. I love this watch because all it does is tell time, and that's all I want from a watch. Well, I want to be able to set the watch and wear it, and I can't do that very well with fancy watches. I'm also happy to be able to order this and support the company's cause of preservation of marine ecosystems. You can get this wet briefly but can't wear it all the time you're in the water. I haven't been in the water yet, except my shower, but I'm hoping they'll open the pool this year and I'll have the perfect watch for swimming and floating. The watchband has a Tang buckle, which is evidently the same type of buckles my generation had on our watches until the Apple watch came along, and it's meant for women and men. The band is a little too long for me, but I can get the jeweler downtown to fix that for me. I highly recommend this beautiful, well made watch that supports a wonderful cause, preservation of marine ecosystems and the importance of recycling. The watch is made of recycled ocean plastic that shows your concern for what's happening to our oceans and how we can help to stop it. This is just the kind of watch I love, no gizmos, just a watch that has a simple face and a plain band. It would make a wonderful gift since it comes in a nice watch box. ... show more

This watch looks exactly like the photos and is so comfortable. I love how large the watch face is because it's perfect for checking the time for work and projects. The colors are vibrant but soft at the same time- it catches eyes but isn't too visually loud. I LOVE that it's made out of recycled plastic from the ocean, I love to support sustainable fashion. I will say though, I was not impressed with the lack of instructions. It took us a while to figure out how to change the time since the dial was initially very stiff. It was hard to pull outward once we did figure out how to change the time. Other than the lack of instructions, this watch is very fashionable and sustainable. This is a great watch for the summer. It's water resistant and very lightweight. The color palette is nice and it's easy to use. My only criticism is that I wish it displayed more numbers for more accurate timekeeping.

Initial Impressions: The Flex Watch, apparently made with plastic recovered from the ocean, is an “art watch” that has an airy, open-skies vibe and a decent movement. All the Details: This Flex watch features a puffy-cloud-and-blue-sky motif on the dial, slender silver hands, and bold-font, silver applied chapter numerals at 6, 9, and 12, with the brand logo at 3. The case is white plastic and the strap is a very soft and supple silicone rubber that repeats the clouds-and-sky design on the dial. On the end of the strap, there’s a nice milled and signed clasp. While the watch strap is really nice, Flex missed an opportunity to really promote ocean-recycled plastic. Other brands have suppled plastic woven straps, also manufactured from ocean-recovered plastic. With so little plastic in the Flex product, it makes me wonder if this is more a sales gimmick than a commitment to the environment. That being said, it’s still a fairly nice, budget art watch with a case diameter of 40.5 mm, lug-to-lug width of 47 mm, and a case thickness of 10 mm, including the box domed crystal, and a feather-light weight of 33 grams. The strap is 22 mm wide and has quick-release pins, but since the silicone is really nice quality and is color matched to the dial, I don’t foresee swapping it out. By my measurements, the strap should fit wrists from 6-1/8 inches to 9 inches. It wore comfortably on my 7-inch wrist. Inside is a well-known budget Chinese quartz movement PC21J from TMI/Hattori (see pic), which is part of the Seiko group of Japan. The movement has “JAPAN” stamped on it, but Hittori is independently operated, so the label is a bit misleading. Still, it’s a widely-produced and dependable movement used in a lot of budget watches. Overall, it’s a fun little artsy watch that wears very comfortably. Priced in the mid-$30’s, it’s probably more expensive than it should be. But it is a great talking piece to show how every little bit we do can save part of the world. So far every person that see it ask how I can wear a simple watch when I own more expensive watches. I love my Flex watch! I ordered the Cloud Blue, as the design is what drew me to this watch. After reading that the company creates these watches from recycled ocean plastics, I had to order this. The watch is lightweight and easy to wear. The face is large enough for my 50+ eyes to read, but it is not obnoxious. There are plenty of options for sizing and this watch is super sturdy.
