I have recently entered the world of building book nooks. For many years, I have been building plastic models, but in viewing these kits I thought they would be a great changeup. I recently purchased another kit which I have barely started when I came across this one. I had seen this Magic Bookstore kit on a YouTube video which after viewing, decided this would be an interesting kit to take on. Upon delivery, the first thing I noticed was how heavy the box was. Reviewing the contents, I found that pop out parts were very dense and appeared to be made of wood. This kit to my surprise also included several tools to help with construction including a ruler, tweezers, screwdriver, and knife which apparently many kits do not include. I would conclude that this will not be very difficult to build but it does have many parts which will require some patience. Unfortunately, I’m working on finishing my other kit and with this being in the middle of the holidays, I will not be able to take this one on for another few weeks. Having said that, I’m anxiously looking forward to starting on this kit.

I'm pleased with the quality of the various materials used in this kit, as well as the visual explanations in the instruction guide. The solid woods are thick and smooth, and there's a large assortment of 3D pieces made of metal, resin, papers, etc. This kit is more DIY than 3D puzzles. The wood doesn't have the colors/images painted on, so you must cut out and glue on several pieces of paper for the floors, walls, and many smaller items. There are small flowers, vases, lights, and other accessories that must be handmade. You will need to supply your own glue, but tweezers, a cutter, ruler, screwdriver, and sandpaper are included. I'd say this kit is higher in quality than most kits I've seen that make you glue the walls/floors on. The papers are thicker. The dust covers are also much thicker. The instruction guide is 30 pages and has real color photos that give common sense directives, mainly visual. The steps are fairly easy, but there are a lot of miniatures to create, so this kit will take several hours to complete. Especially when you add on time for glue to dry. I recommend this build for ages 12 and over. Younger kids can help, but wouldn't be able to assemble it all on their own. It's a nice kit for a reasonable price.
