This is such a beautiful set! Everything from the lovely little suitcase-type box, to the gorgeous authentic-looking and feeling tea set, the sweet tongs, even the little towel, is so thoughtfully packed and presented. Every piece I received was whole and unbroken, and instantly gave me strong Japanese culture references. The pieces are quite small, but exquisite. The pretty cream colored porcelain inside the cups is smooth and lovely. The lightly textured black pottery glaze is visually appealing and feels good in my hands. The tea towel is soft and embossed with some Japanese characters, though sadly, I don't know what they mean. The little cup to contain tea leaves has a printed fabric top, for just a touch of soft, silk-like prettiness. All of it sits on a slatted bamboo tray, for ease of serving, and so any spills will run right through. I have a granddaughter who loves tea, and is interested in all things Japanese, including the history and culture. This set will make a beautiful and interesting gift for her, and one that I believe she will treasure. Such a unique, lovely set.
