I am NOT tech savvy. I bought this for my 11 year old son for his birthday because he is very creative and more engineered brain like my husband. My husband had no issues putting the pieces together. Watching videos on YouTube are priceless to get ideas on what to print, how to get the files, learning anything, any troubleshooting... even I could figure out how to fix an issue with a certain filament brand we bought that was unfortunately a bad buy. Beware of the filament quality out there, do some research before buying filaments. Quality DOES matter...ask me how I know lol. This printer, however, is a GREAT buy! We all have so much fun printing! My son is ready to start designing ideas, so we will see how it goes! Be sure to have a standard PC or laptop to be able to download the Orca Slicer software. Being able to printing multicolor is so awesome and definitely worth the price!

Great printer. Have the 5 Pro also, and they compliment one another greatly. Has been flawless since day 1. Just be cautious of getting aftermarket build plates, as you'll need to auto-focus every print. This doesn't happen with the build plate that comes with it.

Not sure where to start with this thing.... I sounds like there is something rubbing on a fan inside it for starts. There is also a high pitch vibration when its warming up, This is LOUD so something is very loose inside it. There is 0 Linux support so your on your own if you use a real OS instead of one that gives away all your personal info but can play games. If you read the reviews that "it works with the real OrcaSlicer" and purchase this thing you'll soon find out they actually mean "it works with the real OrcaSlicer if your using windows and are willing to put up with the things you'll have to work around because it don't actually work well with the real OrcaSlicer" The china version they give out (for windows/mac only) also defaults to needing an account so all your info goes to their cloud servers to be usable. If you *still* feel the need to try this as a Linux user then you'll have the honor of paying for a 4 color printer that ALWAYS prints from spool 1 only, so you actually have a 1 color printer for the cost of a 4 color. What a bargain! Sending this POS back after 2 days. I know, I know... a tech scam from china? Who would have thought??

I stared 3d Printing back during COVID with a new (at the time) Creality bedslinger...That thing was a pain. I had to level the bed before every print, only printed in one color, and only had an 89% success rate. Revently I got this printer as an upgrade. Let me just say that the difference was night and day. Setup: This took literally minutes. It came 90% pre-assembled and once it was all set up, I put chose the colors I wanted to use and it auto fed and prepped them. Features: I love them. I use the Flashforge-Orca slicing software and they talk perfectly. If the printer has a problem, it will tell me on both my desktop, and on the mobile app. Knowing that it will Auto-Level the bed before EVERY print and make sure that it doesn't float if it doesn't have to it a relief. I will say, I wish it came with a poop chute. But there are 1000 +/- files out there for free that you can use, and it lets you see the printer in action. Printing: This printer is not as loud as people say it is. I heard complaints that the filament purge is loud and you can hear it from across the house, is over exagerated. Either that or I'm going deaf faster than I knew. The print quality I would call a mixed bag; because a lot of it depends on your settings. If your print quality is low, I would talk to people on discord or reddit for ideas on how to dial it in. It is for sure faster than older printers use to be, so I would call the print speed a huge step up from the old days. I've already been using it for close to 500 hours at this point and I would say that it's been a bit of a beast churning out my prints. Stuff I've given for gifts, made for my own decorations, and stuff that I'll use in my normal day to day life. It's been a set and forget kind of print work for me, I haven't needed to monitor it, but I do because I love to watch it work. I've let the printer run overnight or while I was at work and came back to it to find nothing but pure progress has been made, so it's very reliable. Would I say this is a good printer for a beginner? Yes I would. it's got an easy setup and use, plus it's not as expensive as what I would call the more "commercial use" printers that people use for their printing businesses. I would call the steepest learning curve is on the side of the slicer, but that's not related to the printer. Why did it not get 5 stars if it's so good then? In order for this printer to be considered for a perfect rating, I would say it needs a few things. First off, the inside has NO lighting. You have to buy the LED strip and print off a mount and install it yourself. The webcam is also sold separately and requires installation. To top it off, if you get the enclosure kit, and you have the webcam, they don't fit perfectly together. The wife for the camera will interfere with the door on the enclosure kit. (But there are some really awesome files for the enclosure kit to make the printer look awesome) TLDR: trustworthy, reliable, easy to use, good quality for prints and for it's cost
