I am NOT tech savvy. I bought this for my 11 year old son for his birthday because he is very creative and more engineered brain like my husband. My husband had no issues putting the pieces together. Watching videos on YouTube are priceless to get ideas on what to print, how to get the files, learning anything, any troubleshooting... even I could figure out how to fix an issue with a certain filament brand we bought that was unfortunately a bad buy. Beware of the filament quality out there, do some research before buying filaments. Quality DOES matter...ask me how I know lol. This printer, however, is a GREAT buy! We all have so much fun printing! My son is ready to start designing ideas, so we will see how it goes! Be sure to have a standard PC or laptop to be able to download the Orca Slicer software. Being able to printing multicolor is so awesome and definitely worth the price!

Not sure where to start with this thing.... I sounds like there is something rubbing on a fan inside it for starts. There is also a high pitch vibration when its warming up, This is LOUD so something is very loose inside it. There is 0 Linux support so your on your own if you use a real OS instead of one that gives away all your personal info but can play games. If you read the reviews that "it works with the real OrcaSlicer" and purchase this thing you'll soon find out they actually mean "it works with the real OrcaSlicer if your using windows and are willing to put up with the things you'll have to work around because it don't actually work well with the real OrcaSlicer" The china version they give out (for windows/mac only) also defaults to needing an account so all your info goes to their cloud servers to be usable. If you *still* feel the need to try this as a Linux user then you'll have the honor of paying for a 4 color printer that ALWAYS prints from spool 1 only, so you actually have a 1 color printer for the cost of a 4 color. What a bargain! Sending this POS back after 2 days. I know, I know... a tech scam from china? Who would have thought??

The media could not be loaded. All of the information on this printer listed on Amazon states the operating system supports “Mac OS: version 10.9 and later”. When I went to install that Orca-Flashforge slicer or software, however, I instantly get an error message that macOS 13 is required. I contacted technical support and after a couple of days did get a response. I initially had to explain the problem over several days - a relatively simple question asking for a link to the version of their software that supports macOS version 10.13.6. We’ve been back-and-forth for days. The final reply after all of that was: Sorry, currently AD5X can only use Orca Flashforge for slicing and connecting to printers. Sorry for the inconvenience caused to you. Have a nice day. Best Regards, Wei Xu（徐微）/Aftersales So I have emailed back again back to my original question if they can send me a link to the Orca FlashForge software or another slicer that will work with Mac OS 10. I believe I’m going to have to return the printer and buy some thing that will work with my computer. But there technical information on the printer is very misleading and technical support, very difficult to get any actual answers or help. I do not recommend this printer unless you have a state-of-the-art 2025 computer to support it. … updating my review. I did end up buying a new computer and I must say the printer is amazing! It is relatively easy set up in the software easy to use. There is a lot of online help within the program as far as the various settings, but you are pretty much able to print right out of the box if you’re not doing anything complicated. All of those 3D printers I have looked at seem to have various issues with boards going out or error issues that need to be resolved. The ADX also seems to be affected by this. I did get an E0005 error out of the blue and contacted Flashforge Customer Support and got a very fast response. Communication has been good, I think. They had me try a couple of things and then have sent me a replacement extruder board, extruder, cable, and motherboard along with sending me videos of how I can install those parts to repair the system. I thought I would have to wait a month or more to get the parts and was said that I would not be able to use the printer for a while because I’ve been having so much fun with my grandkids printing things, but receive tracking information today on the parts that are coming and they are being shipped from within the US and by USPS, so should be here within the week. I was very impressed with the warranty support and communication from Flashforge Customer Support so I decided to update my review. I have not gone back to check that. They have updated their listing to show that you need macOS 13 at a minimum to run the slicer software… and I am hoping that they will update that information for a five star review. Update absolute junk! cannot get a print completed. Filament feeding , fouling, and down right not coming out. So sorry I wasted the money. I even bought a filament dryer thinking maybe to much moisture. No luck. The prints are so rough you can feel the little hairs all over them. They crack and are brittle. Junk junk junk.
