This file cabinet seems sturdy and the drawers and lock work smoothly. It was well packaged and arrived undamaged. I purchased this particular file cabinet for the rollers and the inside drawer height. I wanted a deeper drawer height and this says it is over 4". The side of the drawer is actually just shy of 3 inches, just like all the other ones I didn't get. The rollers are so small that they will only roll on very hard, flat surfaces. I wanted rollers so I could move this from the closet when I wasn't using it to the room when I was. However, this will not roll over even the thinnest mat. It would not roll on its cardboard box. It hangs up on the grout grooves on the tile floor. I essentially have to carry it to move it. Why have rollers that don't allow you to move it wherever and whenever? I am thinking of getting a rolling plant caddy to put under it. ... show more

Not long ago I decided to switch from the old classic look of my home office to a more clean white look. I painted my orange walls, got a standing desk with a white top added an all-white TV cabinet but still, my file drawer was still the red-wood I had from my old desk. I needed to make a change but finding a good cabinet online is hard. You don't get a real feel for it just an eye. So after reading other reviews and going back and forth in my own head for a bit I took the chance. I am very happy with my buy. It's a metal cabinet and has the space I need. It sits a bit lower than my last file cabinet but I am ok with that because it keeps my printer from standing above my desk. If I was to have any wishes it would have been that it would have been at least one inch wider and the metal would have been a bit thicker. Besides these small wishes, this is an awesome cabinet that fits in well with my desk setup. ... show more

Two choices of color include a gray and a black. I ordered black, which very much looks black in the product photos. My cabinet came in a well-packaged box marked BLACK. The cabinet IS NOT black, it is a dark charcoal gray—lighter than the gray shown as a color option, but definitely dark gray, NOT BLACK. The cabinet sits next to an expensive desk with black metal trim. Obviously they don’t match. I’ll spend tonight deciding whether or not to return it. Disappointing. ... show more

This cabinet fits under my 23.5 inch desk clearance, with a little room to spare (could fit an iPad or laptop on it). I wanted more drawer space for my writing desk, which I use for my computer. It's difficult to match wood color - walnut, mahogany, mocha? This dark grey color blended in, although it's a little reflective (not a flat color, like office file drawers). But it looked nice! The drawers are really long and can hold a lot. The cabinet measures 15.25" W x 21" D x 22.5" H and has rounded corners. The divider for the bottom file drawer, which hangs on the top side brackets, is only a few inches high. If not packed with files, other things like manila envelopes and folders could slip under. Also, the divider was not wrapped or secured inside, so it had fallen behind the bottom drawer. I had to remove the top drawers to shake it out, since only one drawer can open at a time, and the bottom drawer would only open halfway. Unfortunately, I had to return it because of the stuck bottom drawer. I would've overlooked a small dent on the side, since it would be under the desk. The box it comes in has thick foam on the top and bottom, which makes it bigger. If you have trouble getting the box into your house, remove the cabinet from the box and just wheel the cabinet in. ... show more

I had just returned the Modern version of this before and amazon customer service gave me a coupon to use because the original file cabinet was a return, and although I liked it, there were some manufactural defects possibly in putting it together and drawer was not lined up like the others. This one looks great and was available right away. Locking mechanism good and fits the pendexflex portable hanging file inserts and file folders perfectly. This almost never happens, but Im excited to get my home office setup.. A big thanks to Amazon and the sweet gal who helped me with the return.. Note this cabinet its nearly identical to the other one on the inside, but doesn't have the fifth wheel in front like the modern version shows. Hopefully not an issue with weight being pulled all the way out. If so I will counter weight the back ... show more

I’m happy with overall quality and color of the filing cabinet. It arrived very well packed, so no problems with dents or other damage. As mentioned in another review, it was a bit difficult to unpack as someone who is smaller and older - however I realize the great packaging was what kept it damage-free during shipping. I am very disappointed with wheels, as they do not work at all on carpeting. During COVID, I am working from home at my dining room table, and was planning to roll the file cabinet from a closet into the dining room each day. Basically, I have to drag/push/pull it along the carpet which is a hassle and it’s relatively heavy, so I won’t be able to use it for my intended purpose. I don't mind telling you, but originally I was looking for a wooden 3-drawer filing cabinet; that's just what I thought I wanted. Well, I ran across this one and decided to give it a try, thinking to myself, “if I don't like it, Amazon is pretty good about returns”. I'm very glad I did. It complements my desk nicely and I really like the anti-tip-over feature. I've had filing cabinets before that would tip for when you opened a drawer; this one doesn't do that.
