Not long ago I decided to switch from the old classic look of my home office to a more clean white look. I painted my orange walls, got a standing desk with a white top added an all-white TV cabinet but still, my file drawer was still the red-wood I had from my old desk. I needed to make a change but finding a good cabinet online is hard. You don't get a real feel for it just an eye. So after reading other reviews and going back and forth in my own head for a bit I took the chance. I am very happy with my buy. It's a metal cabinet and has the space I need. It sits a bit lower than my last file cabinet but I am ok with that because it keeps my printer from standing above my desk. If I was to have any wishes it would have been that it would have been at least one inch wider and the metal would have been a bit thicker. This is a nice filing cabinet for keeping the home office organized. It’s sturdy and the design is very sleek. It has soft close drawers and has a lot of space for storage. The bottom drawer is slightly too wide for standard-size hanging folders, but there is an insert bar that you can place inside the drawer, allowing the folders to hang front to back instead of side to side. ... show more

This file cabinet seems sturdy and the drawers and lock work smoothly. It was well packaged and arrived undamaged. I purchased this particular file cabinet for the rollers and the inside drawer height. I wanted a deeper drawer height and this says it is over 4". The side of the drawer is actually just shy of 3 inches, just like all the other ones I didn't get. The rollers are so small that they will only roll on very hard, flat surfaces. I wanted rollers so I could move this from the closet when I wasn't using it to the room when I was. However, this will not roll over even the thinnest mat. It would not roll on its cardboard box. It hangs up on the grout grooves on the tile floor. I essentially have to carry it to move it. Why have rollers that don't allow you to move it wherever and whenever? I am thinking of getting a rolling plant caddy to put under it. ... show more

I had just returned the Modern version of this before and amazon customer service gave me a coupon to use because the original file cabinet was a return, and although I liked it, there were some manufactural defects possibly in putting it together and drawer was not lined up like the others. This one looks great and was available right away. Locking mechanism good and fits the pendexflex portable hanging file inserts and file folders perfectly. This almost never happens, but Im excited to get my home office setup.. A big thanks to Amazon and the sweet gal who helped me with the return.. Note this cabinet its nearly identical to the other one on the inside, but doesn't have the fifth wheel in front like the modern version shows. Hopefully not an issue with weight being pulled all the way out. If so I will counter weight the back ... show more

I don't mind telling you, but originally I was looking for a wooden 3-drawer filing cabinet; that's just what I thought I wanted. Well, I ran across this one and decided to give it a try, thinking to myself, “if I don't like it, Amazon is pretty good about returns”. I'm very glad I did. It complements my desk nicely and I really like the anti-tip-over feature. I've had filing cabinets before that would tip for when you opened a drawer; this one doesn't do that. I don't use this for filing but for general storage under my sit-stand desk so cant comment on that aspect. Comes in 1 piece with zero assembly required. This is a great filing cabinet for the price, very well built, just awesome overall. I did notice, however, it cant fit letter size filing folders. This isn’t really an issue for me as I just got some cheap letter size and it’s not really a big deal
