Update: We have had these chairs for over 3 years and they have been great. Sturdy, easy to clean, light to move around. These chairs have been fantastic! So I debated these chairs for 2 months. Would they be comfy, would I be able to sit and eat or chat for a while? They are fantastic. They look great, sit great, are super sturdy, easy to put together, packaged well. I really can't say enough great things! I just wish I'd gotten them sooner! I would have save myself a lot of bar-stool shopping time! And the price! They're $60 EACH! That's so inexpensive! Our boys have loved them and get up and down with ease, they are 3 and 5 and love sitting at the counter and watching or helping me cook. If you're thinking about them, get them. I debated so long I missed my opportunity to order ALL of the colors I wanted of these off of Amazon. These are REALLY popular and are getting harder to find. I needed 8 so my total cost was making me wince. DUMB!!! I should have ordered them all when I had the chance. The good news is I was able to eventually get them all but the total cost ended up more than the Amazon price would have been. They are perfect!!! (See pic. Also note that in the pic are the distressed copper, and distressed orange ones as well. Also note that the kelly red and the orange are very similar in color.) Seem well made. You will have some assembly but it's easy. 4 screws to attach the back to the base. Requires an allen wrench which they include. The orange and red chairs have silver screws. The copper chair came with black screws. They have nice rubber feet so they aren't super 'clangy' when you move them around. These are on my covered patio and paired with a two-toned table my hubby made. Also see pic and note the perfect decor items I found on Amazon to compliment the chairs. These chairs came in a single box, ready to assemble. Only the backs needed to be applied to the chairs. They were easy to assemble and look wonderful at my kitchen island. I have a coastal home, so the distressed look is perfect. I loved the bar stools so much, I ordered regular chairs for the dining room, but in the dream blue. They're also perfect. The chairs are a pleasing style just like most brands that make this industrial style chair with these same dimensions. The "distressing" wear marking on the chairs is almost identical on each chair which I'm not very fond of, it could've been a little more random...I'll probably end up painting these a different color anyway. For those wondering, the black chairs have white/grey colored wear mark. The seat is 24 1/8" from the ground. The seat base is 14 1/4" at its widest point (front) and 13 1/4" where the back rest bolts into the side of the seat. At the back of the chair the seat curves to 11" to about a 5" flat spot where the back of the back rest bolts into the seat. The top of the back is 16 3/4" from the seat base and 40 3/8" from the ground. This design is way more comfortable than the 12" seat base style of these chairs that you see almost everywhere. The foot rest sits about 7.5" above the ground. I'm 200 lbs. 6'0" and I feel comfortable at a 36" counter top with an overhang that allows the chair to be pushed in so the arms of the back rest touches the counter when not in use. I have anywhere from 6-8 inches from my thighs/knees ant the counter depending on how far in I put the chair. THE WEAKEST LINK/DAMAGE: The bottom of the legs look a little weak and one of my chairs arrived with a bent and twisted leg, they could have definitely been reinforced more or packaged better, ideally an "X" brace should be put into place for the legs as is done higher up near the seat of these particular chairs. I will probably reinforce these as you can actually twist the bottom of the legs with your hand. Regardless the chairs seem "okay" for normal use as long as you don't throw them around or sit on them on an uneven surface. ... show more

Bought these to replace the wood chairs at our kitchen table. They are a good height and sit nicely at the pub height table. They came securely packed and undamaged. Assembly was as simple as screwing the backrest onto the base. That's it, 2 pieces and a few screws. The metal takes some effort to pull in tight as they aren't 100% true to shape but it wasn't difficult. The downside to these is that they are narrow. I'm an average sized male and I fit ok. I wouldn't want to sit on them for hours though. I would say that anyone concerned about having wide hips may want to look for seating that doesn't wrap so far around the sides. These are awesome especially for the price. I recommend screwing the side bolts on first and then the three back ones with the center back bolt last when putting the back on. I figured that out by the fourth bar stool. These are heavy duty and look wonderful.
