I sometimes carry my propane on a hitch rack on the back of my promaster RV, but sometimes I don't want to use the rack & prefer to put the tank inside. ( it runs my little fire pit, no more wood campfires for me) BUT I didn't know it was illegal ( jurisdiction dependent) to carry a standard tank on its side. I was hesitant to order after reading some of the other reviews, but took a chance on it anyway. The tank I received appeared to be new (Original hydro date was 9-22) with a new valve and gauge. There were a few nicks and scratches, but nothing out of the ordinary. If you're expecting to receive a tank with a pristine, showroom finish, you're dreaming. I took it to the local lpg fill station and they put 4.6 gallons of propane in it. The next day I had left it in the back of my truck and heard a slight hissing coming from the pressure relief valve. Since it was 98* and the sun was beating down on the tank, I moved it to the shade and the hissing stopped within a few minutes. So apparently the pressure relief valve is working as it should. Overall, this appears to be a good tank and cost less than having the leaking valve replaced on my old tank. ... show more

Update 4/10 - received item for the third time and it was even more damaged than the previous two. Multiple dents and scratches all over. Unbelievably bad packaging. Contacted customer support. Recently purchased Flame King YSN201HZL 20-LB via Amazon 3/16/23. Filled tank one time. Unit has a gas leak, appears to be from the gauge area. Audible hissing is noticeable. UPDATE 3/25/23 - this is a unsafe manufacturing defect, however customer service advised me to bleed out the $25 in propane I just spent to fill it and return it to Amazon. I would've expected the mfg to apologize at least, and send out a replacement unit immediately without me having to go thru Amz returns to return a faulty unsafe product via UPS. ... show more

Purchased to replace expired RV LP tank in truck camper. Local LP shops and RV dealerships would not recertify old tank and it was around $250 for a new one. This one came new at less than half the quotes and was filled by a local hardware store with no issues. Installed today and was a perfect replacement. New tank date was late 2022. Good for another 12ish years I guess. Sticker on tank said to purge before filling (which was done at the store) despite the listing stating it was prepurged. No biggie. ... show more
