These shoulder pads are excellent - they fit perfectly onto the backpack straps, they are really comfortable to use, and they allow me to carry heavier loads without chafing my shoulders. One other point that I really like: most shoulder pads completely enclose the existing straps so that the color is no longer visible; these don't, so that the color of the straps still shows (sure...a small point, but, like most people, I carefully chose a specific color for my backpack and for my straps.) Since the straps on Kanken backpack are pretty thin, I purchased these pads for additional cushion and comfort. The straps really don't make a whole lot of difference especially for the price.
