    • No More Scuffs!
I am a (mostly) daily rider, and have way too many shoes and boots that I don't enjoy putting black scuff marks on because of the factory black rubber pad on the shifter. Being in the military, I get in trouble if I have black and grey smudges on my boots so I am constantly cleaning them. Not anymore! This product is basically a grey self adhesive ace bandage. It took me about 5 or 6 wraps before I felt it was covered with enough material to be stable and not fall off. It lasts for a while, but will eventually get enough road dirt and dust that the adhesive will wear down a bit. You can replace it, or just trim it little by little to get more life out of it. If it ever gets wet, then it just becomes a giant sponge and the best thing to do is take it off, wring it out, let it dry and re-apply I got 3 applications out of a roll, and this is an 8 pack, so you can do the math. Personally I think this is a great product to be using until I can find a shifter knob that I want on my bike, and that'll be awhile. ... show more

A product like this never occurred to me, but I'm glad someone thought it up. This "tape" adheres to itself very well and once put on is unlikely to fall off on its own. If for some reason you need to remove it, you can reuse it. That's illustrated in my third photo. Each roll is individually wrapped so will keep for a long time. Yes this black crinkly tape works and doesn't impact shifting. Wrapped around the shift lever and replaced or inspected before each ride it spares the top of my shoes.

    • Works As Advertised. You Get a Liftime Supply.
Not sure this is a product the world really needed. Personally I've never had the need to protect my footwear from the predations of the shifter peg on my motorcycle. My interest in this product was more to make my worn footpegs look better again. For that I can tell you that it works as advertised. You get eight rolls in the box and each roll will do more than one peg so for most this is a lifetime supply. It takes a bit of figuring initially as the rolls are large but most of the size is a foam donut that these are wrapped around. The seam to peel them off is almost invisible.
