A couple of things: I received all the plates today but not the bar. I tried to reach out to customer service but can't get anywhere with it unless the bar isn't delivered by July 23rd. Also, not convinced the plates are cast iron. They feel like they have a rubber coating. This may not be an issue but it isn't what I was expecting. Also the packaging smells so bad! I have never received a product where the packaging smells like an ashtray :( Hoping the product airs out soon! Update: I received the bar today via UPS. I was beginning to worry it wouldn't arrive since I received the plates last week. The thread bar and star locks are sort of a pain, but I was taking my chances ordering it. I think it'll be ok since I won't be switching out plates for multiple exercises during any given workout. If I can find clamps that fit the bar, to replace the star lock, I'll try that in the future. The major complaint at this point is the odor that is still lingering on the plates. ... show more

Real nice with the screw on ends. A rubber gasket embedded into the end nuts holds the steel plates on securely. Adds 10 lb to the weight. Good value.
