I ordered just the bar, since I already had weights and an old tubular bar that was beginning to show signs of bending. This bar is plenty strong, and I can't imagine it bending with the approximately 100 pounds of weights I use. The seller's info quotes a weight for the bar of 10 pounds, although elsewhere it says 16 ounces! But when I first tried bench presses with the new bar and about 8 pounds less weight than I had been using, I felt like a wimp. Turns out the bar weighs 12 pounds according to my scale. I have not had any problem with the nuts coming loose--they spin easily, but if you twist them against the plates, they stay put. Although that could be because as I have it set up, the outer weights are vinyl coated (not bare steel), so maybe that gives a bit more friction. ... show more

This comes in three separate packages, and Amazon has failed twice to get all the packages here. I am now waiting for the third time to get the Barbell. Weights aren't much good without a bar to put them on. The weight plates look nice though.
