    • Great hilt, turns your bayonet into a great trench knife.
I was surprised at how heavy this was at first. It's a solid piece of steel. But after putting it on the bayonet, it balanced very nicely. As off as the hilt fells by its self, it really fells sweet with the bayonet on it. If you want to turn your bayonet into a great trench knife, this is a great way to go. Don't want to pay the cost for a real, vintage WWI trench knife? Buy a mosin nagant bayonet and this hilt. However if you want to use the scabbard that's made for the bayonet, you'll need to get some sort of frog for it. The hilt heaviness of this combo makes it want to hang at an odd angle in the scabbard I got from of amazon. ... show more

I got this for my Mosin bayonet that I had already done a lot of file work on to get to fit the rifle. I had to do a lot more file and sand paper work to get it to fit this. That wasn't a problem for me but its worth pointing out for people who don't want to. Once I fitted it and sanded the finish off of the top this thing was well worth the price. At first I looked at this and thought : "Well, another gadget." But I looked at the feedback for this product and I took the plunge. I am very happy I did so. This device is very well made, very well thought of, heavy duty and once installed it's hard to think it's not actually part of the bayonet.
