  • Best tracker I've found--lost 22# last summer!
Style: 6 Weeks Color: White
This is a wonderful tracker for those who don't want to use strictly digital info tracking products for weight loss. I used it to start off a diet for the summer and lost 22 pounds and many inches over the summer including the 6 weeks the journal covers. I can totally ignore & forget to enter info on my computer or even a plain paper printout or such--but when I paid for this product and left it on my kitchen island in plain sight--I felt somehow more obligated to keep at it daily. I tracked everything I ate, my exercise, water intake, and answered the motivational questions faithfully. It also has before and after weight and measurements. I'm not a weight loss program scammer, or anything like that--just an old lady who wants to pass on an actually helpful item! Really good for a starter rather than the regular FitBook which concentrates a lot more on detailed workouts, weight training, etc. This Lite version starts at the basics and offers tips, motivational info and gets you going in the right direction. The Lite also has space for exercise but not as complicated. I wrote down my bike riding, steps taken, and any heavy outside work that I felt was good exercise (such as push lawn mowing) in those spots. I used a step counter (see my other reviews--PINGKO, not expensive) and tried to get 5,000 steps a day. I almost always got those and some days more. This Lite version includes meal planning areas too and I used those to make food that was ready to grab & eat for a couple days without being tempted to grab snacks & fast food. HERE'S THE BEST PART: I'm 66 years old, did not starve myself but ate fresh and healthy food including some meat and treats--no special low carb, or other type diet. I have two knee replacements and can only ride my bike for exercise--no jogging, walking, elliptical--have to keep it to non-weight bearing exercise. I lost the 22 pounds without extreme measures of any sort. I wasn't morbidly obese which generally allows much larger weight losses at the beginning, just heavy, so this weight loss is doable for almost anyone. My cholesterol came down 28 points and my joints feel much better--plus looking better gives even an old lady a lift! If you're older--or any age and don't care for digital tracking--GIVE THIS JOURNAL A TRY! ... show more

  • Best log for competitor or novice
Style: 12 weeks Color: Black
I've tried probably 15 different food/training logs and this one is what I would make if I was to pull the best features from each of those. Small, but with a space for what matters most when embarking on better health and fitness, the fitbook is always in my purse. Why? 1. It starts with a place to get clear on goals-- not just an12 week goal, but daily ones too. 2. A place to log weekly stats such as your weight. 3. A daily food log that's not cumbersome with calories etc-- that's outlined the way I like-- 3 meals and 3 snacks/day. 4. Simple checkboxes for an accounting of water intake. 5. Simple checkboxes for nutrient accounting. ( I only use this to log protein and vitamins but there are more choices such as fruits, grains, veggies etc.) 6. A "circle the face" quick rating of how clean you felt your meal was. 7. Separate places to log strength training and cardio each day. I love this bc some journals I've tried outline only one type of workout on a day...so if you do weights on a cardio day you'd need to write in on the margin or stick a post- it on that page to log it. 8. A place to rate your workout so you know if you should adjust something next time. 9. A place to log calories burned during a workout. 10. The adorable pen that comes with it that clips right inside the spiral binding! Honestly, I've been lucky enough to win an international fitness competition and this is better than the excellent log I used at that time to scaffold my success for that accomplishment. Props to the fitlosophy people for creating this excellent tool! ... show more

  • Nice tool to help you reach your goals
Style: 12 weeks Color: Black
I have been using the Fitbook for about 2 weeks now and I think it is a fantastic product. No fitness journal is going to magically make you lose weight, but if you have the motivation, I believe it is a great tool to help you keep track of what you are doing and to help keep yourself in check. The first thing I noticed about the Fitbook is how it is organized, and with it you have the capability to track a wealth of personal fitness information. With this product you can track all types of workout info, what you are eating, sleep, water consumption, as well as your overall progress over a 12 week period. Every week you set new goals in an effort to reach the overall goals set at the very beginning. Often in weight loss I think people can get frustrated because things are not happening as quickly as they would hope, I think this book helps with that problem, as it helps you take things one week at a time. There are a few things I don't like about this book. First, it kind of forces you to start on a Monday. Although on each individual day page, you circle what day of the week it is, on the weekly plan page, the days are filled in for you. Certainly, you could still plan your week, but things would be out of order. I think it would be better to let the person using the book fill in the days of the week on the weekly plan page. I think it would add to the overall versatility of this book as some people might want to start on another day for whatever reason. I also don't like the use of the food pyramid as a way to track food. I think if I ate every recommended serving of every type of food, I would be gaining weight. Again you don't have to use this book completely, but I would prefer just having check boxes for what types of food you have eaten, without the recommendations as there are so many diets out there, and everyone is doing something different. Regardless of these minor complaints, I would greatly recommend the Fitbook for anyone who is looking for a great way to track their fitness over time. ... show more

  • Excellent except too small
Style: 12 weeks Color: White
Everything is fantastic except it’s too small to log in a full session with notes and details. Would have been better to have less sets and more space to write exercise name.
