Still wedge
Item Shape: HelixPlus Wedge
Amazing wedge. It splits black locust easily as opposed to my Grenade wedges. Saving me a ton of time.

Cheat code
Item Shape: HelixPlus Wedge
This wedge is a cheat code. Being helical vs single axis makes a HUGE difference. I have nothing further to say.

Excellent Tool!
Item Shape: HelixPlus Wedge
My Fiskars HelixPlus is an excellent, well-engineered tool. It's the best splitting wedge I've ever owned (and I've owned a bunch of them). I feel noticeably less vibration in the handle of my sledge hammer when hitting its plastic striking head than when I hit any of my steel wedges. I thought the plastic would dampen the force transferred to the wood, but that hasn't been my experience. My only caution is that you might think (as I did) that this wedge is miraculous, not merely excellent. I've gotten it really stuck in several gnarly pieces of wood, and because of its excellent engineering, it's quite difficult to extract. Once, I had to use a chainsaw to rescue it. So, as an excellent tool, I would wholeheartedly give this wedge 5 stars, but it's only a 4-star miracle.

Works really well.
Item Shape: HelixPlus Wedge
This thing is fantastic. There were logs I couldn’t split at all with an 8lb fiskars maul. And I’m 6’4, 245lbs and can generate a lot of momentum and force. Real tough sinewy log chunks weighing hundreds of pounds. With this wedge I had the logs completely split in minutes each and it didn’t require a lot of pounding. A few easy hits and the logs split.

Fiskars HelixPlus Splitting Wedge - High quality and easy for beginners
Item Shape: HelixPlus Wedge
This review is for Fiskars HelixPlus Splitting Wedge for Large Logs – Forged Steel Wood Splitting Wedge with Spiral Design & Vibration-Dampening Striking Head, 2.5" x 9.5" x 2.5". I'm new to the world of log splitting, so that's my perspective approaching this review. Out of the package it's very heavy and looks to be of high quality. It has the classic Fiskars yellow/orange color which makes it visually appealing. I found this to be relatively easy to use and effective at splitting logs. I'm happy and would purchase again.

Solid wedge
Item Shape: HelixPlus Wedge
Decent wedge but I don’t know if the helical shape is really helping much. I did like the plastic cap. It makes splitting a lot quieter.
