  • Very Happy
Style: Upright Bass Pickup
This is a very good pickup. Doesn't feedback. The only issue I had was it sounds very trebbly, however I fixed that through a EQ pedal

  • meets my needs
Style: Violin/Viola Pickup
I have a couple of violins that dont have a pickup. This is an easy way to play amplified without making any modifications to the instrument. Id prefer a 1/4 inch jack, but I'm making this work.

  • Good product, but the one i received was obviously a previously returned item.

Good product, but the one i received was obviously a previously returned item. The adhesive on the pickup elements was disfigured and had some lint on it like someone tried it and returned it. Maybe you guys can send me a partial discount toward a future purchase?

  • Amazon Backed the product
Style: Banjo Pickup
When I gave the Fishman pickup to my luthier, he installed it and the unit did not work!!! Fishman told us to return it to the retailer, which I did following a phone call to Amazon. They sent me a new one immediately and gave me a shipping label to return the non working one, which I was real happy about. The pickup sounds great!! Definitely picks up the "banjo" sound which has been confirmed by several listeners, while playing out. I like it so much I bought a second one to replace an older pickup in another banjo. Pick on !!!!!!!!!!!!!! ... show more

  • Quality product
Style: Upright Bass Pickup
Very easy to install, no tools needed and it took me less than 5 minutes. Make sure to leave a little space between the strings and the pickups (about 3mm seems to be enough) and you'll get great clarity and a full range off of each string. So far I've used it both direct into amps and through a pre-amp (Sansamp DI), both work pretty well but, because it gets the full range, you'll definitely want some way to tweak your sound. A little bit of that tweaking will quickly get you from a smooth big band feel to a rockabilly sound. Most important to me is very low noise, even with the treble turned well up I didn't need a noise gate. This item does exactly what it's supposed to do and a great job of it. Simple, zero maintenance, unobtrusive, and great sound, what more can you ask for. ... show more

  • Know what you're doing
Style: Mandolin Pickup
It took some effort and Youtube but it sounds beautiful. I had to get rid of the adjusting screw knobs and grind down the screws to lower the bridge enough for the strings to be at the right height from the frets. You also need to cut the grooves in the bridge for the strings. Used my old bridge as a pattern. I also had to wrap something around the patch plug to keep it from flopping around in the clip that holds it to the instrument. ... show more

  • Very good choice for banjo amplification
Style: Banjo Pickup
I've always just played acoustic instruments, but I've got a performance coming up and need to be able to amplify my banjo. I asked a professional banjo playing friend for his advice and he recommended this Fishman banjo pickup. I was hoping to be able to install it myself, but when they say they recommend professional installation, they're not kidding - it was beyond the scope of my knowledge and the tools I have, so I had it done at a local shop. Anyway, it sounds great. ... show more

  • A great solution (finally) to banjo pickups
Style: Banjo Pickup
Excellent pickup! So much better than the K&k banjo twin, which made my $2,000+ banjo sound like a $50 banjo. Pair this with a Fishman Platinum DI or L.R. Baggs & you have a banjo pick that makes your acoustic instrument sound like one, even in large venues. If you are a real banjo enthusiast and have some common sense, its really not difficult to install. You can find the instruction for installation online. Great pickup! ... show more
