This is a pretty comprehensive collection of tackle, lures, etc., that is SURE to put a smile on any angler's face. All too often, the generic lures feel really cheesy/plasticky and lightweight, like your typical junk you might get, but not really with this stuff. The plastics (rubber worms/creatures) are quality material, the hard baits like jerkbaits, rattle traps, crank baits, suspending and diving minnows feel REALLY good in the hand. They track well with consistent motion patterns. A good variety of worm/offset plastics hooks for those worms/rubber/plastic baits, and even a decent set of offset circle octopus hooks that I'll happily use while finding the giant catfish. There's WAY more tackle than this little supplied tacklebox can handle. The tackle box is definitely of the 'toy' grade. The only bits that aren't reasonably good are the tiny junky split shot lead weights. They're too small to use seriously, and they're as basic as they get. I'll save them to melt down to make real sinkers later. There are plenty of drop leads and bullet sinkers that are good quality. Again, I'm very impressed with the overall and general quality of this tackle. Usable stuff, for yourself, or an INCREDIBLE gift. No matter how picky your angler is, there's stuff to be appreciated in this kit, a ton of it.

This tackle box kit comes with a wide range of fishing lures and tools, making it ideal for anyone who fishes for bass, trout, or walleye. There’s a good mix of crankbaits, frogs, and other helpful items, and the pliers are a nice bonus. The only thing I’d change is the box itself. It could be made of heavier material to feel more sturdy. Still, it’s a fun and functional set that has just about everything you need for freshwater fishing.

I am not sure I'll ever use everything in here, nor do I think everything I will really need is in here, but I think this has taken me a long way to getting (back to) started. It is even likely that fishing technology has changed since the last time I tossed a line, and the stuff included in this kit is going to ruin my fishing trip by actually having me catch fish! Naw, this kit has lots of lures, has several sizes of circle hooks (I have never used a circle hook before), rubber lures, weights, and swivels. I didn't see any bobbers or floats, which is what makes me think this is a bit for a different kind of fishing than what I grew up doing, which is sitting on a creek bank and waiting for a fish to bite. As I mentioned, this kit has lots of stuff in it that I feel is a good way for someone to jump in and make their first fishing trip, knowing they will have most of the items they need already assembled for them.

I am a little more impressed with this order than I planned to be. It is fairly comprehensive and well thought out. All the lures are of good quality and all the hooks are good. A lot of little pieces, of course, but good stuff to have on hand. The tackle box is the part that hit my impressed button. It is a lot nicer than I thought it would be. Good quality and size. I don't know how they got everything inside this box, it is absolutely stuffed to the gills.. see what I did there? Everything is individually packaged so be prepared to sort the box out when you pull things out when it arrives. The one photo in the listing is misleading where it shows the lures and lure counts. The top left crank and top water lures show 3 each, and that is not the case, there are one of each shown and the soft bait counts are correct on the image. I kind of figured that before order, but thought it was worth mentioning. At $79 with a 20 percent off coupon, it is a fantastic bargain and a good value. Delivered quickly and safely.

Before I took the plastic off this tackle box, I could tell by the weight it was stuffed full. This is a great assortment of mostly soft baits (my favorite) and also some nice casting plugs. If you have a beginning angler, I can't think of a better present. I know if I had received this at 12, I would have spent hours going through the tackle and organizing it. There is too much to put in the tackle box when everything is unwrapped. It can be a great way to get a young one thinking about how to organize the items in their life. I'd recommend a small plastic bin as a companion present -- a place to store the excess gear until it is needed.

From the realistic crankbaits and swimbaits to the little frog and spinnerbait options, I had no trouble dialing in the right profile for bass, trout, or walleye...and swapping out hooks and weights was pain‑free with the included pliers. The compartments in the box keep everything from rattling into one another, although you’ll want to double‑check those smaller hooks don’t slip out when you open a drawer.
