These fishing rods and tackle are great. I love the fact that they are retractable making them easy to store anywhere. Although I wish the bag was a little bit bigger because as soon as you attach the real to the rod, they don’t fit in the bag. I didn’t notice pretty soon that the reel was going to need to be greased, because it started to hesitate while reeling in. As for the rod itself, it is very sturdy, and I never worry about it, snapping or bending, that goes for the eyes as well. The tackle a cane with his great for the basics. But you’ll definitely have to get your own set of tackle. In the future, I would definitely upgrade the reel, but I would 100% keep the rod and attach a new reel to it. In all, I would highly recommend this starter kit if you are looking to get into the hobby or fishing or if you’re just trying to get supplies and hardware to fish every once in a while. ... show more

I bought these for traveling. I tested them out before hand. I was unsure what to think at first. A few cast and I thought these were descent for what they are. Then I caught a catfish that was almost 6lbs. This was with the line that came with it. The rod and line held up great as it fought me bringing it in. The only issue I had at a later time was the top piece got stuck and ended up breaking trying get it to collapse back in. ... show more
