I bought this for river salmon fishing on my 13.6 noodle rod. Its been fantastic. Looks really nice and so far has worked flawlessly. I've caught several fish in the 15-20lb range without issue.

Revised review: The description mistakenly described the reel body as die cast aluminum. I contacted the Seller, who changed this in the listing afterwards. Nice people who were easy to deal with. Still Nice reels anyway, good size for inshore saltwater or freshwater bass fishing.

I picked up the 2000 model of this reel, having never heard of the brand before, and it’s not bad at all. This may be an early judgement, but so far it feels really smooth when cranking. I like the red bale, and it feels really thick and sturdy. For such a low price and smaller size reel, I expected the bale to be super thin and not too sturdy but that wasn’t the case, it feels great. One thing I did notice is that it felt a little heavy to me for being a 2000 size. I have other brands in larger size reels that are lighter than this one. That’s okay, because that’s probably why it feels more sturdy, but if you are looking for a really lightweight set up, this one probably isn’t your choice. If you just want a reel that is inexpensive and smaller this one doesn’t seem half bad. I’ll have to update about longevity at a different time. One other thing I noticed that may have been just on this reel is the little cover that goes opposite the handle didn’t want to go on easily. I usually have to switch all my handles because I prefer to retrieve with my right hand, so that’s one of the first things I notice out of the box. After some wiggling, I was able to get it to grab the threads and screw it on tight. Other than that, not too bad. Maybe a good starter reel or just an inexpensive reel to have some fun with.

The Heahold fishing reel is an AMAZING fishing reel. I fish with a Shimano Stella FK, so I know a smooth fishing reel when using it. The Heahold fishing reel is very light, which makes it very sensitive versus a heavier fishing reel. You can feel any structure when using this reel. The drag has a nice clicking sound, which is very nice when you want to hear the fish on action. The drag is extremely smooth. The reel paddle is also very comfortable and soft to touch. I paired the fishing reel with a Phenix Iron Feather 8’6” ultra light rod and PowerPro Green Braid 5 lb test. I was able to launch my baits far out and used the reel fishing for trout. I would highly recommend this reel to any fisherman, especially if you are a budget. Don’t let the price fool you though - this fishing reel is a pleasure to use.

This reel has 6 ball bearings and an aluminum spool. It is smooth to crank and the anti reverse is instant, with no backwards rotation. The bail spring feels good and strong and it flips shut easily when I crank the handle. The spool is quite shallow for line capacity, so if you plan on running line heavier than 6 lb test then its not going to hold a lot of line. The size is consistent with other brands of size 2000 reels. I wouldn’t call the drag excellent, as it is not as smooth as some of my other brand reels. If you want an economical reel, then this one is adequate.
