Introduced in 2020, these reels were first showcased at ICAST in July 2019. The HD series offers six models, with two body sizes: 300 and 400. The new models are black, a departure from the previous dark blue. The Lexa HDs elevate the popular Lexa, offering 25 lbs of drag on the 400 and 22 lbs on the 300, capable of handling various gamefish. Witnessing a 400 HD tame tuna at Guadalupe Island speaks to their power. These compact baitcasters cast lures well and have ample line capacity and drag for most fish. Their levelwind design simplifies cast and retrieve fishing with artificials. Overall, it's a refined, high-performing reel with excellent value. If you own a Lexa 300, the 400 might be a worthy upgrade.
