I bought this reel due to being a very versatile all uses type of reel. I have 2 older Daiwa Legalis HSA100 baitcasting reels and they are identical in looks and build. The Lexa took the HSA build quality of the aluminum body and amped it up with stainless gears. The HSA series are built like a Lexa Win model. I've used the HSA series heavy for 7-8 years without 1 issue with them. I know the Lexa 400 HD will give years of service trouble free. ... show more

Failed twice in the past 3 years with very little usage. Gears strip easily and it takes a few weeks to get it repaired. Plus the cost of diagnostic ,shipping and any parts needed. I would not buy this brand again. It’s full of cheap plastic parts. I use my Abu Garcia c4 ambassador (the good kind made in Sweden) 10 times more than I use this reel and it’s lasted for years with no issues. Not the quality it used to be. Dorado slayer! Threw 60# braid on this, with 25# fluorocarbon leader, and set the drag..... the dorado didn't stand a chance. Absolutely slaughtered them with ease. Buying more as soon as Christmas passes!
