This item wasn’t prime so it took a while to arrive, but arrived sooner than their estimated date. Bought it for my baby’s first birthday. He loves trying to figure out how to put the coins in. Mostly he loves pressing the nose and hearing songs he can dance to. The toy is all brightly colored and seems to be well made. The door on it to get coins out is easy enough for my baby to open and close. My only dislike is that half the coins are one size and their other half a just barely smaller. Not really noticeable visually, but when I pick them up, it’s annoying some are smaller. It would have been fun to have the different colors be different sizes. Mostly this is just an annoyance to me, my baby couldn’t care less. It is also so awkward to pick up as an adult. I have small hands so picking it up one handed is just not an option, but even my husband who has large hands says it’s awkward to pick up. We love the toy, it’s not too loud! It doesn’t have any volume options so the sound level it comes with it perfect to me. I love that it teaches fine motor skills as well. A great educational toy! ... show more

I bought one of these for my daughter because they use it in her speech and occupational therapy and I remember it was also a favorite toy of my oldest daughter when she was younger. A great gift and love that it's educational and can be used to encourage speech.

My 15 month old daughter first used this piggy bank during her physical therapy evaluation for her tip toe walking. I noticed how engaged she was putting in all the coins in the top slot and opening the piggy bank to take out the coins. She used it with no difficulty & was able to use it independently. I knew I had to find it online and purchase it for her. I looked for this toy on different websites and stores. Amazon had the cheapest price! There are different levels. The first level counts the coins in English as she's putting them in and the second level counts the coins in English and Spanish. The piggy bank also talks and sings when you push its nose. This is a great feature to help promote language an counting. It would be even more amazing if the piggy bank could also recognize the numbers on the coins and say the number. This toy is the cutest! The sounds and songs are fun. It definitely helps your little one learn to count to 10. It also helps with hand eye coordination and fine motor skills, so your little one can learn to put the coin through the slot on the top. A rewarding sound follows each coin put in. (Usually a counting number.) There is three settings on this toy to change from level 1,2 or3. The older they get you can increase the level and the sounds change a little with each level. You can press the nose to play a cute song or a sound. It also plays a sound when the side door is opened and shut. I bought this back in 2007 with my first child and she absolutely loved this piggy. Then I started over again with my second baby in 2018 and was so happy to see this toy still being sold. We got it just a little before her first birthday and she also loved this toy dearly. We shared it with a family member to continue the fun. A very sturdy toy, made very well. I know my girls were rough on it, one of them threw it a few times to watch the coins all come out and this toy withstood her terror! 😆 Highly recommended. My little one loves this toy. It helps them build their fine motor skills by placing the coin in the slot and pushing the nose. They also love opening and closing the door on the side to get the coins out. I love that it is not loud or obnoxious. It is a happy medium. There are two modes one for more advanced learning and one for starters learning. I took this to a play date with three one year olds and it was a huge hit with them all. We can spend a lot of time together playing with this toy! It's helping him learn how to place the coin into the slot which takes some coordination. He also loves opening the latch to get the coins out. He also does love tossing the coins around so expect some frequent clean up if your baby is in the throwing everything stage. The pig is cute and sings some songs if you press the snout. The pig also counts in English and Spanish depending on the level you choose as baby puts the coins in which will make this useful once he's learning to count. The sound quality is great. I think it seems sturdy. I think it could handle some tossing around although I'm lucky he has only thrown the coins and not the pig yet. Overall, just a really good and inexpensive toy. I have been searching g for a simple toy for my 15 month old. Criteria: Something that would entertain him, provide practice with fine motor skills, and would grow with him developmentally. My son is rough with everything, so another requirement was durability. Things that I wanted to avoid: Anything that was too complicated, came with too many pieces, took up too much space, or required a lot of assistance. Did this toy meet all of my demands? For the most part, yes. Pros: Simple, helps develop fine motor skills, is easy to use, doesn't require additional storage for the coins (they are stored inside of the piggy), talks (counts, sings songs, says phrases), has 2 levels that grow with your baby as they develop, is cute, and doesn't require much assistance. Cons: Tips over easily, slides away while my son attempted to put the coins in the slot. There is no volume control (that I'm aware of). It's a great toy, worth the price, and is cute. I would rate this toy an 8 out of 10. :) At first, he wasn't able to put the coins in the slot. After about 5 or 6 minutes of trying (I demonstrated and assisted him a few times) he figured it out. ... show more
