Has worked okay. There is a rubbing sound but drag works well and casts well. Certainly not high end but sufficent to fish for crappie, perch, and small bass.

I did not have high expectations but this reel is very comparable to reels I have that cost 3-4X this amount. This replaced my Lew's speed spool on my bass rod. I originally bought this for my trout rod but it ended up being bigger then expected for the reel series. Update. Bought 2nd reel(1000) Series and put ut on my trout rod. 1000 is the size of most 2000 reels. Picture is a shimano stradic 2500 vs fishdrop 1000. ... show more
