Given the price, it’s a pretty solid reel. I fished it probably 6 hours per week for two and a half months on one of my 5’6” ultralight rods. I was surprised at how smooth it was and the drag was very nice in my opinion. I have a Daiwa Regal on an identical rod that I also bring with me so I could compare the 2. The Fishdrops wasn’t has smooth feeling, and I had to reel a bit faster to keep up with the Regal. But for $25 vs. $75 it is a nice feeling reel. Way better than others in the same price range. The only reason I am not giving it a 5 star is because the clicker on the drag just gave out on me today. Drag still works but it is silent. Not a huge deal but not ideal. Otherwise it has held up and performed well ... show more

I have a little over 150 hours of saltwater fishing on this reel and there is little corrosion rinsing after use and oiling gears before storing. The media could not be loaded. Perfect reel for baitfishing and jigging. Makes the rod heavier which ended up destroying my original range with my old one. Would recommend, its way bigger in person than it seems on photos. It's smoothness is incredible, no grinding parts, just straight action. Pair this with a 20lb+ line. Ordered the 1000 series to fish brook trout . Reel says it is the 1000 ,but it is larger and holds 160 yds of 6 lb line. The same as the 2000. I have not used it yet, but it is much larger than I wanted.
