This battery does not hold a charge. I have attempted to use it four times now after charging all night. It lasts about 15 to 20 minutes. I have to weed eat my yard in about 3 time frames. Not happy at all. Terrible product. Update: after I submitted this review, I was contacted by the First Power company. They sent me a replacement battery and I am very happy to say that this battery works like a charm. I am very happy with their customer service and will definitely do more business with them. I found very little on Black & Decker 40 volts snow blowers. Everyone said they are all the same but I was a little Apprehensive. Works great and so far has had better life then my original B&D battery. Good value for the money

    • Refuses to charge after 6 months but the vender replaced it in Feb 2022
I reviewed this battery criticizing performance. the vendor contacted me and offered to replace battery free of charge. Which they did in Feb 22. Thanks to the vender for reading the review and responding with replacement this review is not about packaging. It is about performance and functionality of battery. Bought this battery 6/22/21. Update: Very happy with this companies customer service department. They read my review, contacted me,, apologized and mailed me a new battery. It fully charges and works well. Very happy! From zero stars to 4 stars!!!! I think I was sent a used battery that didn't work. It had scratches and wouldn't charge all the way. I'd give zero stars if I could. Very disappointed as the previous batteries I bought from Amazon are still working great. I just needed a 3rd battery since I now have 3 B&D items requiring a 40 v battery. ... show more

My OEM battery died on me so I decided to make the leap on this generic one to save some cash. The 3.0Ah is a HUGE upgrade - my weedeater immediately had a punch to it that I haven't seen in a while. It charged without issue on the original Black & Decker 40v charger. Haven't tested to see how long it will last but was able to knock out my front and back yard on a 5/6 setting and it still had 3/4 charge when I was done. ... show more

    • Worked great for a year - then not so much
You get what you pay for. For a year I had no issues powering my battery powered black and decker mower, trimmer, and blower. However a week go, my devices were shutting off after minimal use.
