Out the box easy plug and play charged it for a few hours and went out to do some yard work. I live on almost 12 acres mostly all open fields hardly any trees. I was out almost 300 yards and i was still able to get pretty good single. Not sure if trees would effect the signal or not but from my experience being outside most of the day it held a good charge and was able to keep a good signal at such a far distance from the house. It's great for the money spent. Best part is that it doesn't need a wifi and has a vood range. Picture quality is great for extreme dark room as well. Gives sound for the least of noise as well. Differentiates between brown or white noise and baby cry. Its absolute value for money.

I was skeptical due to its price as most monitors with these features are a pretty penny. It was super easy to set up, great sound, good image, has a wide range view, and even has extras such as a timer for feeds, noise machine for sleeping. I will say the only issue we have found is that if we try to talk through the monitor from another room, you can't hear it in the nursery. I may have just not figured out how to properly yet but we have had it for 3 months now and LOVE it. We will definitely be gifting this in the future to other expecting parents. ... show more

The monitor does not have a way to alert you in the middle of the night if you are a deep sleeper. I bought this for monitoring my mother 93 who does not call out if she needs help. She did need help and I kept sleeping. I thought I'd hear her with the volume up all the way but it was not enough as she just walked around quietly soaking wet and got everything else wet too. ... show more
