If your looking for the easiest way to get your fire place logs started this winter ...look no further. I like to gather up some small twigs and smaller tree limbs from around the yard and create a small twig pile. I then place just one of these square fire starters underneath my dome shape pile. These squares will stay lit for about 7min giving plenty of time for igniting your small twig pile. After I have decent size flame, I will add two logs and within a few minutes you will have the start to a cozy fire. I have the smaller Mesa Solo Stove and these are the perfect size for getting fires started in those as well. These squares will also be great to take camping due to their smaller size and light weight...just another of my many great Amazon buys ! ... show more

Not nearly as good as the Weber white cubes. I think they're the best, but they've become a little expensive. I only needed three of them to light the "Egg". Needed five or six of these to get the charcoal going and they still took a little longer. I'll use them up and probably go back to the Weber's. ... show more

Was skeptical about these little squares. The box they came in was much smaller than I expected for 64 starters. They are very small- the size of a square dog cookie. But one little square can get 4 bio bricks going in a hurry! Great value!

These small little things work great. They are very easy to light and start the fire immediately using just one starter. Be sure to leave a little air space between the fire starter and kindling, otherwise the fire starter may go out. Notice I said "kindling." I wouldn't try to use these to start a big log, but then again not using kindling is not a very good way to try to start a fire. ... show more
