Ever since I saw my buddy run a Jetboil during one of our camping trips, I knew I wanted a similar system, until I saw the price for one(Yikes!). Came across Fire Maple a few months ago while planning a camping trip for the GREAT TOTALITY ECLIPSE and knew I had to get it for several reasons. Pros: 1. Price - 40 bucks!??! Sold 2. Construction - Full aluminum with steel heat fins and mounting plate and large capacity! 3. Ease of use - I mean, it's simple and stable even without a canister base 4. Performance - meets or exceeds expectations in heating performance! 5. Versatility - Fire Maple does also makes other attachments for this system! (you can find it in their store!) that uses the fin technology! Neutral: 1. I do wish it came with a base cover to protect the fins (similar to Jetboils) 2. Attachments - Noticed the other version comes with a different base attachment for use with a pan, wish it came with it as well, or at least make it an option to purchase separately. 3. Storage - it comes with a mesh bag, though I do wish there is a manufacturer that makes a EVA hard case for it. Cons: 1. none so far. Attached is a picture of the Fire Maple and my buddy's Jetboil.

Last October, I encountered strong winds while cooking on a hike, and I needed to block the wind with pan to boil a cup of water smoothly. But the neighbor next to me cooked leisurely and didn't care at all. He introduced the benefits of this personal cooking system to me. I took photos, and placed an order on Amazon after returning home. In May of this year, I went hiking in Utah again with this personal cooking system. It is efficient, boils water quickly, and is strong in wind resistance, so that I can eat hot meals every day. I really like it. When I went home and cleaned the pot, I found that the coating on the edge and bottom was slightly peeled off. I am more concerned about the composition of the coating and whether it will release harmful substances. So I wrote an email to the customer service to inquire. Soon, two days later, Dye from the Firemaple Service Team replied to me that the material of the pot is aluminum and the coating is harmless. However, if it is visibly peeling, they do not recommend using it further for cooking. To my surprise, Dye said as a gesture of goodwill, they are willing to send me a replacement at no additional cost. Of course, I soon received a new product, and even the pattern and color are exactly the same as the original one. Such meticulous service really touched me. I think this cooking system will accompany me in future hikes and let me feel the warmth every time I use it.

Got this from my wife as a birthday present. I couldn't be more impressed! Boiled a cup and a third of water in 60 seconds in windy conditions with 12 degree temps! I hunt a lot and own a construction company. Often times we are working in secluded areas and sometimes electric hasn't been established yet, this is a great way to get a hot meal when its 8 degrees outside and you need a pick me up! Perfect for long day hunts too when you're way out in the timber. It weighs nothing and pair it with a good freeze dried meal brand and you cant go wrong.

I havent taken it backpacking but i will in July so far i personaly think its better than a jet boil its compact and allows you to store a small gas tank in it. Also it can hold a lot more water than a jetboil for people that like to go camping with a group. Its much more stable. Although it is a bit more heavy than a jet boil so you will probably add weight to your pack. But for the price an oz you can fit in it i think its well worth it

So much better than what I was using before, just a simple Stanley metal cup on a burner. With the baffles this seems to be so much more efficient and boils water super fast! Awesome having a built-in ignition as well. Wish it had a metal lid, and wish it was slightly taller so that the lid would snap on with the base and a 220g fuel canister inside. Otherwise no complaints so far!
