I needed to upgrade so getting this with the charger base was really nice. What I didn’t care for is that the data from my old one was lost in the cloud . I would rather had the new one and the old one together so I could transfer the data myself . I was told that wouldn’t happen oops it did.

Nice tablet does everything I need I will say the battery life starts out great but after a few months u will have to charge it up more often or keep plugged in to charging cord while using.. I do wish fire tablets would pickup more apps in the Appstore

    • Love the New Fire HD 8+
This new Kindle Fire HD 8+ is wonderfully fast and consistent in its performance. I use the Kindle Book App as well as Prime Video, Netflix, etc., and both my previous 10 and 8’s were getting really laggy, where updating my new book purchases would take 10 minutes to add just 6 books from my library. This new 8 is almost instant and I’m ready to go. I don’t think the battery life is quite as good as before though. On my older Kindles, I could go all day reading without a charge, where this new one requires charge at 8 hours. It’s no big deal for me as I’m mobility impaired and quite stationary so I use the Text-to-Speech and keep it on the wireless charger. I do like the wireless charger, but it’s kind of bulky. It’s a 1 size fits all, so while it’s made for both the 10 and the 8, it’s a bit big for the 8 and takes up precious bed tray table space. So, when I need space, I put it on the USB charge instead. Overall it was well worth the investment for me! ... show more

I like the fact that I can buy my books and the ones I like. I super dislike the fact that there are ads on every single thing everything and multiplies clear one and another one pops up because that one another one popped up that’s horrible I’ll never buy another one if this is the way it’s gonna be ... show more

I can watch movies, and read my books and I listen to my music. I haven't tried other apps, and I don't know how to use Alexa it's there but I may not use it It does have a long battery life, which is really good if your watching movies or listening to music. I'm very happy with my purchase. It replaced my old Kindle, which I read with but unfortunately I have no sound, so I can't hear music or movies. This was a good Christmas present to myself.     • Works great but dock is iffy.
Bought 2. One charging dock is great. The other has an issue with connection and keeps flashing red. I've moved it, rearranged it, sometimes it charges, sometimes it doesn't.

    • Touch screen sis terrible
I've had it for 6 weeks and it is incredibly bad on the internet with the touch screen. It at best approximates where you are clicking with the result that you get every ad on a page and spend half your time cursing at the dumb machine. My old kindle died (planned obsolescence??) and I had to get a new one or lose 2000 books. It misremembers the last page read in books at least twice in each book. It no longer allows you to "remove from home" a book, but asks you to hide it. Then try to find it again (good luck with that). This is the 6th kindle I've owned and in many ways the least satisfactory. Amazon didn't help with one of my big issues. They said I could download my old apps, but some are no longer compatible apparently, and some are no longer available. But if I had them on my old kindle, they should have been in the cloud to get them back. No help from the help team at Amazon. And forget having it remembering where you are in a game where you have spent good money. All down the tubes. But what can you do? If your old one dies, they've got you. ... show more
