This product is exactly what any first time crafter needs. The blade is extremely sharp but also very well protected with the ability to cut through a lot of different materials. I have used it with thick scrapbooking paper, laminated cards and burlap. It is small and easy to manage. The only disadvantages for me is that you can only buy the replaceable blades here and the ruler on it is a little confusing until you test it out. Overall, I’m very happy for the price and will eventually step up to something heftier and more permanent.

I was gifted a Cricut and lots of accessories for Christmas. The cutter like this broke fast. Not surprising me after working in so many art supply stores before I was disabled. This one looked better quality in pics, and was in person. Since I can't afford heavy duty metal/wood slicer and want to be able to move around with it, this one was perfect for me. Very light, strongly made.

This paper cutter has everything you would want unless you want the cut to be accurate. The blade got dull way too fast too so now it tends to shred the paper when I use it. It is small so it fits well on my desk and it has a arm that pulls out to measure just over 13 inches. I would say it was great it if wasn't so flimsy that most of my cuts aren't accurate. This is the first cutter I have bought that when you push down to bring the safety blade out, it causes the cut to be off. As I said, it isn't sharp anymore either. I need to try cutting tin foil with it to see if it will sharpen the blade again. If it works, I'll edit this review. That still won't cure the paper not being accurate and I always have it on a hard surface which should be all it needs. I didn't check other reviews and I still haven't so I don't know if others have been having the same problems with this cutter that I have. I know better so I have only myself to blame for that oversight. I know I won't be buying another and I won't recommend this cutter to friends.
