I got these because I was tired of being able to see into my neighbor's house (and presumably them seeing into ours). I had been hesitant about these because I thought I'd feel claustrophobic not being able to see outside. I finally gave in and got them, and I put them up on just the necessary panes to get more privacy. I love them and have been very happy with the film to the dismay of my cat who loves looking out every window he can. I no longer feel like people can see in, and I definitely can't see any details outside. I still get plenty of light, and as a bonus, I get a pretty rainbow effect when the light hits the film. As for the application, it requires a bit of planning and precision if you want it done well, but that's to be expected of any film you're putting on your window. I had my boyfriend help me with it, and after that, I would recommend having an extra set of hands to help you put it on. I think it made it easier to hold it in place when applying it, especially when you're running a card over it to get it to remove any bubbles. ... show more

I needed something to cover my bathroom window wo being too busy. I put this on at night, not too hard to do and it looks clear, most of the time. But in the am, the sun shines through and puts a kaleidoscope on my floor. Very nice to wake up to.

I don’t do many product reviews but I really like this product. So much so that I bought another roll to do one side of the sliding glass doors. In a first floor condo, I feel like people can look inside if I have doors open. I also have these weird shaped portal windows and this product dresses them up. I put the remainder on the front door window to provide some privacy if I want the door open because people can look inside on their way upstairs. Easy to install. Just use windex to clean the window and soak a paper towel, cut a bit over the area, crease it around the edge of the windows and cut. Use a squeegee to get the bubbles out. I did by a kit but didn’t like the cutting tool. A utility knife works better. Changes color depending on the light. I can’t wait for more so I can get the glass doors covered! You don’t have to get a spray bottle and baby shampoo or any of that like some videos show. ... show more

I purchased this based off reviews and have to say I'm a bit disappointed. It's not as private as I had been hoping. You can still see through it moderately easily. You might not be able to make out details but you can clearly tell what is on the other side of the window. So if you're purchasing for privacy... I'd keep looking. However, it is very pretty and allows lots of light to come into my bathroom. Was a bit tricky to install, I just assumed it had a sticky backing but its just a film that you install like car window tint. So no biggie, that was on me for not reading. Only down side is because it is rolled up so tight it seems to want to continuously peel off the window. After using a blow dryer I got it to stay better, but after a few weeks its starting to try and pull away from the window. Truthfully, If it wasn't already cut and on my window I'd return it. ... show more
