This little guy has an almost suede-like texture and it feels nice in the hand. If you don't need to grip it -- that is, if you can simply rest your hands on the top as you motor along -- you can hang on to it without problem. Also, I like the bright yellow color: It's easy to spot on the pool deck at the end of your workout so you're less likely to accidentally leave it behind, and it stands out among the blue Speedo version that is more widespread. At first I bought the Adult size. But I am 5’2” and it was longer than I needed. So I returned for the junior. Very glad I did. I swim just fine with it and it fits much easier into my swim bag. Very sturdy, I am happy with my choice. Excellent quality!

I'm 5'9", 160 lbs, an experienced swimmer (swim coach x 10 years), and this kickboard holds its own. It keeps me afloat without bending and has comfortable material for grip (minor slippage). It was a bit smaller than I had anticipated, but it still had the necessary buoyancy for my weight and swimming style. The adult size would be sufficient for children as well. In fact, a parent asked where I got it so he could get one for his child. Note for other coaches/instructors: The material does get a slightly slippery feel when wet which may not be top choice for initial training unattended students on using kickboards. ... show more
