I have flown a couple of low cost drones before, but my sister-in-law's DJI Flip is the first sub-250g drone with remarkable overall quality is the best, until I got this Fimi Mini 3. The FM3 fit and finish have a premium feel and quite "thick." The camera video and photos I took were really good and on par as advertised. I'm sure there are lots of way better drones out there but will cost you at least 2x more. The FM3 is faster and have better wind resistance than the Flip when I flew it at the beach. It also have clearer vertical video image recorded. FM3 can transfer video/photo a lot easier to almost anything. Just make sure you get a good micro SD. A V30 speed will work, but I recomend V60 or higher to maximize true potential, since the Sony camera is quite fast and can handle that range. Very happy with the FM3! ... show more

The media could not be loaded. I have been looking for a drone that can record true 4k60fps video, hopefully for under $300. It seemed like an unattainable fantasy, but I saw this FiMi mini 3 drone on the website and it should fit the bill, so I immediately placed an order. I received it very quickly and couldn't wait to test fly it in my backyard and community park. The drone performed perfectly the first time, the flight was very stable, and the photos taken were clear and colorful. The 4K60fps video is smooth and vivid, and does not require any editing, which is pleasing to watch and share directly online. There are many other features that you don't usually find on beginner drones, such as waypoints and tracking; impressively, you can track for 10 minutes without missing a target. Quickshot must also be very fun, creating short videos like hovering in an instant. I will use it one by one and enjoy it. For a cheap beginner drone, it has too many advantages.     • Occasional glitch but fun lil drone
I have four different drones now- DJI, Potensic and Specta. I really like my Femi drone, but it does glitch sometimes. It has an incredible zoom on it, but you do lose detail and it gets a little grainy the more you zoom in. It is incredibly fast in sport mode and I would not advise to fly it unless you’re well above everything or out of the city. Has a very sharp crisp camera when you’re not using your zoom even if you zoom a little bit, the pictures are still pretty nice but anything past about 3x times you start losing quality of the picture. It has a night mode for the camera and it helps, but it’s not nearly as good as you would want it to be flying in low light and taking pictures and video. None of the drones that I have are as good as I would like at night. I don’t know if that’s just something you have to deal with when you purchase a drone under $1000. 🤷. I have no regrets on the purchase but it may not be what a first time buyer may want- may be a lil much for some people IMO. Good luck ... show more

Excellent, lightweight drone. Comes in the class of drones that do not require registration. Solid performer even in some winds. Good range but operating within line of sight, one can't test the full range. Perfect for my casual use.

    • Great Drone at a great price, but with issues.
Excellent price point for the tech included with this drone. Had to reduce the original rating of 5 stars to 1 due to issues with cold weather camera performance. Fimi recommends not using the drone below 32° F (0°C) but in reality it only starts to work well at or above 60°F. This is a known issue with all Fimi Mini 3 drones that has gone un-fixed by Fimi. A shame, it handles great and has a lot of potential. Unfortunately, Fimi support responded to my request for help resolving the issue with a laughing emoji and advice to "not fly in cold weather." I live in Northern NY, meaning the drone would only maybe work ok for 7 months out of the year. In the end, I returned it and paid a couple hundred more for a DJI. We'll worth the extra for a DJI! ... show more

I did my research when buying this drone - fly time, battery cost, video features and stability are all important. I wanted something under 250g so I didn't have to bother with a license (I'm just a hobbyist, mostly flying around my own property.) Batteries can be had cheap (~$50) if you look in the right places as well. It has a 3 axis gimbal so the video is VERY smooth. No vibrations come through, and it keeps it nice and level. There's a bunch of cool features I haven't even had a chance to get into yet (not to mention it's 4k at 60 FPS!) The remote is very clever too - the way it expands and connects to your phone directly (it comes with three different cables to ensure you're covered.) All of it fits inside the included little case; I'm still shocked how tiny it is. Flight time is around 25-30 minutes per battery and it comes with 2 batteries and a USB charger (that will charge both at the same time.) No indication of charge status though, outside of the light going off when it's fully charged. (Every bit of weight counts!) Be sure to get a good microSD card for this. Look for one that says something about 4K video and has a high write rate. Also has a "night mode" that can take some spectacular shots but I haven't tried that yet. Controls are mostly intuitive but I had a tough time figuring out a few of the advanced ones (like panorama.) Plenty of YT videos out there that explain it though, if you get lost. Came with extra blades too, in case you bonk it into something. Speaking of which, that was the only thing this didn't have - obstacle avoidance. If you're like me and just taking it up for overall shots and don't really fly around a bunch of obstacles it's not a big deal. Definitely a change coming from a Phantom 3 4K I bought ages ago. So much smaller, flies just as easy (if not easier) and charges with USB-C instead of proprietary chargers. No license needed, no remote ID needed, nothing.
