  • Sounds great, user friendliness could use a bit of work.
Style: MMCX
I like the big chungus case these have, I'm able to house my 7hz Timeless easily enough in them. Fiio's control software does leave a bit to be desired though, but I knew this having had a BTR5 from them previously. Unfortunately the highest quality codec these support is AptX Adaptive, and one other weird one that seemingly no one supports (LHDC or something I've never heard of). That's really not too much of a downside though, given the strength of connection and ridiculous range these have. Battery life is very nice as well. The one thing I'm not very happy about, and why they get a 4 star instead of 5, is that when I first put them on, they boot, connect, then reboot for seemingly no reason. Hopefully that gets patched in the next firmware update. ... show more

  • Great sound with several Fiio IEMs
Style: MMCX
I've used these on the Fiio FD5, FD7, FA7, and FA9 IEMs and have never had an issue with any of these. Honestly, I've never updated the firmware, just plug and played on my Fiio X5 or my M11 ESS Plus. On both units, I play Hi-Res files, from 24 bit to DSD 128 and have never had an issue. I will say this, I use poweramp ad my music player and the sound is amazing. I wanted to see how.long the battery life would last and after 6 hours straight, these adapters still had plenty of power. ... show more

  • Works well, but not perfect.
Style: 0.78mm 2pin
Here are some things I wish I knew before I bought it. I write this from the perspective of an iPhone user. The app wouldn't connect to the amplifier. It turned out I had to have the app pair the amp, and so I had to forget the device from the bluetooth settings. Updating the firmware is important. Mine came with firmware 1.24. 1.50 is the latest. My first attempt to update via the app didn't work. I had to close the app, download the firmware from Fiio's website, and then select the file in the app instead of using the online update option. They sounded horrible until I updated them. I think the AAC codec wasn't working. They were too quiet until I found the app had its own volume control. Once I turned that up, my phone's volume control was able to go up enough. ... show more

  • I don't regret buying these, they sound amazing, but the battery life is very disappointing.
Style: MMCX
These sounds much better than the Shure RMCE-BT2 I bough them to replace, and the range is better so I can roam my whole house connected to a PC in the office. BUT, the battery life is pretty poor. I don't think I get 3 hours when I'm listening at high volumes? I'll have to do more accurate time tests, but one of the main reasons I was replacing the Shure bluetooth receiver/cable was the battery life was only a fraction of what is was when I bought it less than two years ago. I'm not sure this FIIO unit is giving me as much battery life as the degraded Shure receiver does?! FIIO, your next version of these, the UTWS7 or whatever you call it should have TWICE the battery life of these if not more. Edit/update: After having these a good while I do dearly love them, but the battery life, while mostly, kinda livable is still the main downside. As a testament to how disappointing the battery life is, but also how much I love these, I want another pair so one set can charge while I use the other. But that will mean another pair of SE215, as I don't want to wear out the earphone to Fiio hooks connectors. As it is, I'm often swapping to SE215s on a cord or my over the ear B&W P7s when the UTWS5s need a charge. For the size of the UTWS5s, I feel they should last longer! I'd love 6+ hours of use at reasonably strong volumes, feels like I get 3 to 4.5 hours, varies. I did have some bumps early on, one earbud seemed to not be charging fully, bluetooth connection problems. But the bluetooth seems fine if I reduce the number of bluetooth devices with their bluetooth on, and an bluetooth adapter I was using on my PC seems to have been causing a lot of the mischief. That's mostly not an issue and I the the battery life on the earbuds is mostly pretty similar now. ... show more

  • Best $200 I ever spent
Style: 0.78mm 2pin
Ok, maybe that was a bit exaggerating, but these earphones have zero discernable thermal noise ("hissing" for non engineers) and work great with the KZ earphones I have As I am writing this review, I am re-listening to all my favorite Taylor Swift songs and being amazed at all the details I can hear now that not even my Bose and Ultimate Ears earphones and headphones didn't let me hear, while at lower volumes ... show more
