  • First test images.
Just got my first telescope a Sky-Watcher Heritage 150 and wanted a cheap camera to learn and experiment with, so I rolled the dice on this one. I've got cloudy weather predicted for the next week so no astrophotography images yet. Just wanted to get a few examples up for others to see. This is a power transformer that according to google maps is 1462 feet away. One pic is camera only and 2nd pic is with a 2x barlow. I'm a mac user and the only processing done was the auto color levels in the preview app. ... show more

  • Planetary camera
I bought this camera not knowing what to expect. For the money it's a great value. I was able to capture Jupiter and see banding with just my cheap Celestron 60 Travelscope. With a higher quality scope It seems like it would work even better. It's easy to use. Plug and play. I highly suggest SharpCap. However works well with most programs. Great beginner camera or for someone who is on a tight budget. Also I believe it would be great for education purposes. You can display what your scope is viewing to a larger group of individuals. For example a class of students. ... show more

  • Well built and durable, but didnt work for my needs.
It may have been my setup by the field of view was very small, not even close to seeing the entire moon. Considering this, it seems best suited for distant objects, but the resolution is not high enough to make those images clear, so it's not a good fit for me. Seems well built and durable.

  • Camera for telescope
Perfect, needs a 2" eye relief but other than that it's amazing and simple to use.

  • Works, but not for compound telescopes.
Works as advertised. But definitely not for compound telescopes. Best for long focal length, refractors or reflectors. Image quality is impressive.

  • Works as designed.(i guess)
Nice camera for the beginner. Hooked it up to my C11 and laptop. Nice images of planets. Never used for anything else yet.
