It came in lots of pieces, but nothing unmanageable. I put it together by myself in 30-45 minutes. Only two tools required for assembly: a Phillips head screwdriver (not included) for tightening the factory-installed screws, and an Allen wrench (included) for installing the rest of the screws. I intentionally left off one of the shorter horizontal shelves (see photo) so I could put all of my husband’s big, heavy work boots on the bottom shelf, but that did not affect the stability of the shelf whatsoever. It’s not top-notch quality or designer furniture by any means, but it gets the job done and looks nice enough, especially for the price ($40). Only 4 stars because the splinters mentioned by numerous other reviewers are definitely a problem.

It looks nice! It was quite easy to assemble and is very lightweight. It doesn't hold much weight and feels flimsy when you shake/touch it, but it'll hold up for shoes!

I had a smaller area where I wanted to put this rack and this one fit the bill. It is sturdy without being overbuilt and it looks great in the space. It is not cheaply made nor tacky looking. It looks like a well built piece of minimalistic furniture.

I replaced my metal shoe rack which i bought from walmart and this is a big upgrade on that. It is more versatile since there are two large cut outs. Looks and feels high quality and would definetely recommend.

Love this shoe rack, it does what I need it to do. Taking it out of the packaging, the pieces seemed kind of flimsy but they went together well and holds up to the weight of the shoes well. My only complaint (which is why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5) is that the spots meant for boots (which the space was clearly marketed for) are too small to put a set of boots on. I could put a single boot on there, but it’s simply not a wide enough space to put them together which is why you can see my husbands work boots sitting to the side of the rack. All in all, I love the rack. It was easy to put together and looks much nicer than a pile of shoes on the floor. Would recommend!
