I’m convinced this Festool dust extractor doesn’t collect dust, it actively hunts it down and eliminates it. Hook this thing up to a tool and suddenly your shop looks like a staged showroom photo. Sanding? Dust gone. Cutting? Dust gone. My regrets about not buying this sooner? Still here, but quieter. The real magic is the (not included, of course) Festool hose-with-cord combo. Yes, it’s expensive. Yes, it should probably come in the box. But once you use it, you’ll never want to go back. One hose, one cord, everything clicks together perfectly across the Festool lineup. The only downside: the self-cleaning feature. I get it. It’s necessary. It keeps suction strong. But every so often it lets out a loud, unexpected CLUNK that sounds like someone just dropped a bowling ball inside the extractor. Effective? Absolutely. Subtle? Not even a little. Still, I’ll happily live with the occasional jump scare in exchange for dust-free lungs and a spotless workspace.
