This is a must have if you’re using net style sand paper on a Festool. This allows the cubitron xtract to properly stick to my sander without ruining the bed. Simple to add, sturdy, and holds paper incredibly well.

This works great to protect the main sanding disk. Not only is the vecro super sticky, when it wears out you can swap it vs a much more expensive part of the sander. I wore down the velcro just using it and made that mistake, then found these!

It really grips the velcro well. The only drawback is that it can be easier to accidentally round off an edge as it does add a bit of cushion.

Great adhesion and I bought it to use 3M Cubitron and the like. I also replaced the pad on my sander with the hard pad. In use I think the interface “softens” the sander pad, adds vibration if not perfectly aligned (and the Festool is so vibe free it’s easily discernible) and certainly doesn’t improve dust collection. It’s not terrible, and I just use a shop vac. But in the end I think I’ll just apply paper directly to the sander pad and accept the reduced life of the sander pad. ... show more

Based on multiple recommendations, I switched to the 3M Xtract sandpaper for my random orbit sanders. It was recommended that the protection pads be added to keep the sandpaper from destroying the hook and loop pad. This work great and don't affect the performance or feel of the sanders. If you have a hook and loop sander, (especially a Festool) you need to use this so you don't damage your " hooks" on your sanding pad when using new generation sanding disks. Use this with 3M cubitron xtract disks, you will not believe what you have been missing. You will hear an angelic choir when you use the xtract disks with these interface pads. Then you will spend your children's college money hoarding disks and pads. ... show more
