I’ve been building and customizing guitars since the early '90s, and this kit was an absolute blast to put together. My wife surprised me with it for my birthday, knowing I wanted a Les Paul-style guitar that I could customize. She chose the Fesley DIY LP Style Electric Guitar Kit with a mahogany body/neck and a flamed maple veneer top—great choice! The kit included everything I needed, and assembly was smooth. After building it, I gave it a matte black finish with a chrome splatter, replicating a guitar I used to play on stage back in the '80s. Once set up and fine-tuned, it plays great—the neck is fast and comfortable, and the hardware and electronics are solid for this price. Honestly, it holds up surprisingly well next to my Epiphone Les Paul Custom. Great project, great price, and awesome customer service from Fesley. Highly recommended for beginners and experienced builders alike!

This guitar kit is HIGH quality. The guitar body was highly polished, smooth and beautiful wood. The frets on the neck were smooth and properly aligned. I have not started on the internals yet, however I think this kit will be very easy to build. It also came with an actual instruction manual with pictures. Highly recommend.

Pros: It is a beautiful guitar. Thick top slab of maple. I can’t find any other manufacturers who do this as full wood. I love it! The fret work is top notch. Really incredible for the price. Cons: the screw wholes for the neck on mine are off center. It probably doesn’t matter, but I’m planning to dowel them and re-drill. I think they should have caught this in QA. Overall- just buy it! You’re not going to find a better kit for the price.

Purchased this for a summer craft project for our music loving 15 year old. This kit provided an opportunity for him to understand all the components that go into a guitar. It also gave him the opportunity to be creative and learn how to paint a guitar as well. Final product was better than we could have imagined. High quality kit and it sounds great with no modifications. Our son now has a better understanding of how a guitar works and has a guitar that looks stunning and sounds great.

This was a Christmas present for my husband. He loves to build kits, and this is his first guitar. Pros: Beautifully illustrated assembly manual. Perfect placement of pre-drilled screw holes. Quality wood and parts. Outstanding customer support team, if needed. Very reasonably priced. Cons: Proper playing setup is a bit challenging if you have never owned a guitar. Luckily, there are plenty of YouTube detailed instructional videos available. Final Review: Beautiful guitar that sounds great! Highly recommended!!!!

Bought this to learn some things about guitar construction. It was fun. But... you will note in the seller's description that the kit was preassembled and then taken apart to ensure things would go well with assembly. This is false as the pilot holes were just that and had never had anything screwed into them. Aside from false advertising, it was fun and I learned a lot. Now, as for quality issues... the tuners are wretched, and the pickups, though not noisy (I was surprised) sound like tin cans with string tied between them. The neck's not bad, and the frets are actually quite good, not sharp on the ends. The body is nice with cavities nicely routed. All in all, in looks pretty nice. Now... I plan to really have some fun with serious modding. Would I buy one of these again? Yeah. For $99.95 I was impressed with the outcome, better than I expected. Been playing for 48 years. This was my first attempt at a full on kit and I'm glad I did it.

I have assembled maybe a dozen guitars and bass guitars over the years, never has one come together as easily as this kit did. Excellent illustrations are included. If this is your first time building. I would imagine that if you did not finish or paint the body you could assemble this on a Christmas eve while the kids were sleeping. Everything works. The tuning gears leave a lot to be desired, but at this price point I won't complain too much. They are functional, and I will leave it at that. Plug and play on all the electrical connections made the job too easy as I did not have to break out the soldering iron at all. The only thing I had issue with was the allen wrench or hex wrench, as they are known, that was provided for the bridge saddles, it did not work on all the screws and I had to retrieve a working wrench out of my box. All in all, very happy with the money spent and would highly recommend.
