If you rotate your fields for grazing, these are a lifesaver. Quick and easy installation and very sturdy. My horse respects fencing, so the height is not a problem. Our ground becomes as hard as rock in the summer (we also have a ton of rocks in our soil), but there was no problem installing or moving them. As long as your horse is not a jumper, they will be wonderful, otherwise, you might have to run something a bit taller over the top. I love them.

Arrived quickly. The boxes were in bad shape open on one end but seemed to contain all of the product. Went in easily down the marked line apart from a root or two. Because my terrain is uneven I needed something that would work on a slope and this did. Hopefully they will last in place as long as I need them but they have a temporary feel and quality. Covered 300 ft with one other person in just a few hours

Only problem I had with these is that the wire wanted to slip down the post. A bit of electrical tape solves problem. These were just the right height to let my pets pass under the electric fence unscathed yet worked perfect on the deer that were always easting my garden.

These pigtail posts have a flat metal flange welded to the bottom of the post, and it supplies the second short cleat that keeps the post from rotating and gives a better footing. Other step-in posts with a welded outrigger cleat seem to lose their integrity as the two cleats (main post and outrigger cleat) wind up either splayed outwards or bent inward toward each other. I expect this is due to the wiggling necessary when the posts are pulled up to change the fence position. Sure, the bent ends can be straightened if you have something strong to insert them into to straighten them, but out in a pasture this can be difficult. I've used trailer hitch receivers or holes in a trailer apron to provide enough resistance to bend the posts but the cleats on these posts don't seem to ever require straightening. In fact, I've moved the fence at least a dozen times and I haven't found any problem ends at all so far. I think the design of these posts is simply superior to the posts with the outrigger welded on using a short length of the same rod material. I will keep ordering these instead of the more famous brand of posts with welded ends. I wish they also made a poultry net fence using these posts. I may consider replacing broken or problem posts in my current net fencing with these posts if I find the time. I might be tricky threading the fence around the pigtail to work it down the length of the fence post.

But, i did sharpen the end that goes in the ground. It was square cut and probably fine. Overall, it was a solid value and they work well for temp electric fencing. I added a plastic insulator to the middle.

I just have received it. I usually use a Rayobi old drill to drill holes in a hard clay. It appears to be solid. The time will show how UV resistant red sleeves on these posts.
