Purchased for my daughter as a starter guitar. We are unqualified to render an opinion about the quality of the guitar as a musical instrument. Looks to be well made. Fit and finish appears decent. Sounds fine to my untrained ear. Seems like a great value for a name brand guitar. Recommended.

    • In the Final Analysis It Sounds Good - Some Nitpicks and Thoughts Below

I ordered this guitar at around $99. It was a steal for that price. Between now and then - about a week or so - it went up 40%. Now it's in direct competition with other Chinese-made guitars with similar reviews. I think it's still worth it, but I'm not expert enough to say how much it really differs from the competition. I'm also not expert enough to know if it needs some expert tuning - i.e., adjustments - from a professional to make it better. It seems other self-proclaimed experts in the reviews thought that was the case. I think it's finished well. It looks like it went through comprehensive QC checks. Again, I'm not an expert, but the third tuning peg felt a little funky to me, so we'll see how well it holds over time. The spray-on "sunburst finish" is really not impressive, but looks OK from a distance. I didn't expect the real thing, but this is barely an attempt. Not a deal breaker, but don't get your hopes up in that respect. They might have misjudged the market a bit, in that this doesn't come with a gig bag, strap, cable, or even a pick. There are some guitars in this range that come with all of the extras and some even throw in a tuner. As this is supposed to be a beginner guitar, it seems like that would be the way to go. They could distinguish themselves by providing relatively higher quality extras, but these are just suggestions to the company...As far as performance goes, I don't have too many complaints. It could have been a little easier to tune, but it sounds pretty good for what it is. I hooked it up to a little amp and was surprised at the quality I heard. That and the good QC make this a buy for me - and has me thinking about taking it to a shop to really get it dialed in. If anything changes or fails prematurely, this review will be updated. ... show more

Just came today. I'm blown away. I love the color. It's a quality guitar. I'm a gigging guitar player, I wouldn't call this a beginner guitar. Sounds good and it's the best setup guitar straight out of the box I've ever gotten and I have over 70 guitars and bought quite a few from Amazon. As someone who’s always wanted to learn guitar but didn’t know where to start, this electric guitar has been the perfect entry point. The quality and craftsmanship really stand out, even though it’s designed for beginners. From the moment I picked it up, it just felt right, lightweight, balanced, and super comfortable to hold. The “C” shaped neck and laurel fingerboard make it easy for my fingers to move around, even as a total beginner. I never feel like I’m struggling to grip or reach for chords, which has made learning so much more enjoyable. The design of the guitar is also really sleek and modern. I went with a classic finish, and it looks great on a stand in my room. Even though I’m still new, it feels like I’m playing a real, quality instrument, not a cheap beginner model.     • Great, bare-bones guitar for a noob

I'll start this by saying that I haven't played guitar since high school, and even then, I was pretty basic. But because this guitar is very much geared towards people just starting out, I think I can fairly judge it based on that. But since you're starting out, you'll also need a lot of stuff this doesn't come with - an amp, some cables, a strap, some picks, and some backup strings, just to start. There are similar sets that come with everything you need - and even tuners - so this isn't really a 'set' like some others are. You DO get access to a tuning app, if you need one. It's all pretty easy to set up for a really basic sound; as others have noted, this probably needs more complex adjustments than you can do as an amateur, but you can sure try. One of the most frustrating things was removing the plastic protective sheet, honestly - so much loose plastic was jammed underneath the knobs after pulling it off that I had to use the 'two spoons' method to remove the knobs, dig the plastic out (which seems to be bolted into the bod, weirdly), and put them back on. Feels nice, sounds fine, seems okay to learn on - and that's what I'll be doing, so I'm pretty psyched to have this now. If you're getting this as a gift, make sure you get the rest of the stuff you'll need! That's probably the only disappointing thing here, as an amateur. ... show more
