Out of the box, I was amazed at how well made this instrument is. This is not the run of the mill cheap quality. With care and maintenance this guitar will last. It is the traditional electric guitar, however I'm not sure if the tremolo works or if its a nonfunctional introductory piece. Another point, this is a right-handed instrument only. Otherwise, out of the box it is pretty much plug in, tune and play ready. The instrument is adult sized and could be challenging for young players. Just know it does have some weight to it, but it is not overwhelming. Sound quality depends on the amp you choose to play the guitar with - however its a great instrument and you shouldn't have any connectivity issues. Lastly, the instrument arrived with numerous promos from Fender, including intro classes for starters, a free tuner and $30 worth or Fender merchandise from their online store. Therefore, if you're a right-handed player and looking for a very well made, yet economical choice - this guitar is for you. ... show more

Just came today. I'm blown away. I love the color. It's a quality guitar. I'm a gigging guitar player, I wouldn't call this a beginner guitar. Sounds good and it's the best setup guitar straight out of the box I've ever gotten and I have over 70 guitars and bought quite a few from Amazon.     • In the Final Analysis It Sounds Good - Some Nitpicks and Thoughts Below
Style: HT HSS Bridge & Pickups Color: 2-Color Sunburst
I ordered this guitar at around $99. It was a steal for that price. Between now and then - about a week or so - it went up 40%. Now it's in direct competition with other Chinese-made guitars with similar reviews. I think it's still worth it, but I'm not expert enough to say how much it really differs from the competition. I'm also not expert enough to know if it needs some expert tuning - i.e., adjustments - from a professional to make it better. It seems other self-proclaimed experts in the reviews thought that was the case. I think it's finished well. It looks like it went through comprehensive QC checks. Again, I'm not an expert, but the third tuning peg felt a little funky to me, so we'll see how well it holds over time. The spray-on "sunburst finish" is really not impressive, but looks OK from a distance. I didn't expect the real thing, but this is barely an attempt. Not a deal breaker, but don't get your hopes up in that respect. They might have misjudged the market a bit, in that this doesn't come with a gig bag, strap, cable, or even a pick. There are some guitars in this range that come with all of the extras and some even throw in a tuner. As this is supposed to be a beginner guitar, it seems like that would be the way to go. They could distinguish themselves by providing relatively higher quality extras, but these are just suggestions to the company...As far as performance goes, I don't have too many complaints. It could have been a little easier to tune, but it sounds pretty good for what it is. I hooked it up to a little amp and was surprised at the quality I heard. That and the good QC make this a buy for me - and has me thinking about taking it to a shop to really get it dialed in. If anything changes or fails prematurely, this review will be updated. ... show more

Purchased for my daughter as a starter guitar. We are unqualified to render an opinion about the quality of the guitar as a musical instrument. Looks to be well made. Fit and finish appears decent. Sounds fine to my untrained ear. Seems like a great value for a name brand guitar. Recommended.

Good starter guitar, but the scale length is longer than other starter guitars so it's difficult to use with small hands. The pegs don't lock either, so there's the potential for frequent tuning. It also doesn't come with any sort of case, so there's the added expense of a case in addition to a strap, amp cord, and amp. Just something to consider when purchasing. It does come with a free trial for learning guitar online, so that's a nice bonus. Overall, the color and quality are great and my daughter is looking forward to learning guitar. ... show more
