I do a lot of reviews for budget guitars, and decided it was about time to purchase one for my personal collection of guitars that I play. I was shocked to see a Fender at low budget prices. Thinking something was up, I placed my order thinking I would be getting a budget quality disaster to review on YouTube. When I received the guitar, I was pleasantly surprised. I gave it a quick tune and was immediately impressed. I gave it the setup runthrough. All of the frets were nice and smooth, shiny, and most importantly... level. The neck needed a minor adjustment, which is normal with acoustic guitars that have been shipped. There was really no set up to do. The build was nicely intonated, the tuners were holding the guitar in tune, and it had a very rich tone. I did change out of the factory strings and put on some Phosphor Bronze Earthwood strings and this guitar sounded amazing. So much so, that it replaced the Martin D-28 that sat on the stand next to me in my office as my "go to" guitar. This in not a purchase that you will regret. ... show more

This guitar is very good quality for the price! It is bigger than I expected but the acoustics sounds beautiful (I got the dreadnought). This was perfect for a beginner like me! It looks exactly as it’s advertised and I love it! I assumed that there would be free lessons involved as advertised but it just leads you to the Fender’s website to subscribe with additional fees. The guitar stand is extremely convenient and I recommend you to keep the guitar on your stand where you can see it regularly instead of placing it in the cover that’s included. That way, it motivates you to pick it up at least once a day for five minutes. I’ve improved on my finger placement and strumming pattern since I’ve bought it. The tuner is pretty accurate since I compared it with a tuning app which makes it convenient to bring this guitar anywhere and tune it whenever. Also, if you’re completely a beginner, a great tip to know is that your guitar actually needs to be tuned quite often due to the friction of the strumming or holding your fingers down to produce the right chords. Realistically I would give this a 4.5 stars only because of the advertised lessons that I assumed would be part of the purchase not separate. ... show more

Fairly reasonable price (especially for everything it comes with), but it seems like no matter how much I tune it I can’t seem to get to the standard scale. This may however be user error. It does sit very nicely on my knee and is very easy to play without a strap.
